< report >To search deleted entries, create a new VN with the title you want to search like "zero escape" and you will see all "possible duplicates". Among them, deleted entries.
No tentacles involved (don't listen to Ezezin, it was an initiation going a little too far >.>).

< report >Lupin Sansei ~Cagliostro no Shiro~ is a first-person dungeon crawler, zero dialogue or anything so far.

< report >Do Refrain no Chika Meikyuu to Majo no Ryodan and Galleria no Chika Meikyuu to Majo no Ryodan really belong here?
According to some "full story" videos:
- The story part of Refrain is about 10-12 hours, which is far less than half of the play time. (link = 10:17:49, link = 12:54:22, link = 11:21:43)
- The story part of Galleria is about 20 hours. (link = 20:30:45)

I also wonder why Mashiro Iro Symphony: Sana Edition's VN entry is split from the main game.

< report >I've played Labyrinth of Refrain and I'd say it's no different than Rance VI, Bunny Black, or Mary Skelter in how it presents itself. It's an Etrian-like Dungeon Crawler with a story. Not debating if it belongs or not, just offering some insight.

Palette is treating it as a FD by not incorporating it into the remake.

< report >I want to have this one Boat included in the db, my reasoning is pretty much the fact that we have both this Haramase Simulartor and this Nympho Waifu++ already in the db. And we even have an Unoriginal Graphics tag for these cases, so I can't see a reason to exclude it.Last modified on 2022-10-05 at 17:33

< report >I guess today I have to be the westaboo asking about some english language vns / vn hybrids to get added to the db :D

This one is the next Love & Sex: Second Base it seems to have a safe version on steam as well called Leap of Love - Safe Edition My guess would be based on the name it's a censored All Ages version of the same game.

But i'm not sure if that is true, steam at least has a disclaimer about NSFW content even in that version up.

MATURE CONTENT DESCRIPTION
The developers describe the content like this:

- Sexy outfits
- Lewd talk
- Some violence

Edit: I just found the entry for the game link going with searching the dev name itself. Sorry about that! But at least the Safe Version could be added, right?Last modified on 2022-10-05 at 18:37

I mean, the unoriginal graphics are definitely not a reason to exclude a game. F95 calls it a VN, but their definition is kinda wonky. If you have played it, and it has no gameplay or low amount of gameplay, you can add it.

As for Leap of Love - Safe Edition, the devs on Steam usually add the mature content warnings even on the all-ages versions of the adult games. However, that game is definitely not a version of Love & Sex: Second Base. These are completely different games. Even more, I doubt Love & Sex: Second Base actually qualifies as a VN, as i had played a very early build a long time ago, and at that time I thought it didn't meet our guidelines.

I will get back to you on that, because the first thing i wanted to know about it before starting it myself was how long it was. If i do play it i want to play it to completion as well.

guess this thread link on steam confused me then... The moment I see folks asking for +18 patches, I automatically assume it has to be the same game only censored.

Aren't SLG hybrids all over the db? It's been a long time since I played some of it myself, but aside from the map movement there were conversations in a vn format happening for hours, i'm guessing i played at least ten hours or so back in 2019 / 2020. Maybe it changed since then and both our infos are worthless now? -.-Last modified on 2022-10-05 at 18:52

< report >SLG hybrids are all over place, because people add them. If this one belong here or not is a question that I'll have to decide after checking it again. I didn't play for long, and it was so long ago I don't remember much.

< report >Does Mushroom Musume count as a VN for purposes of the database?

I figure all Princess-Maker-Likes count automatically, as it's a story but with stats, but I'm not really clear on where the line between VN-with-numbers and RPG-with-novel-segments line is drawn.

Also, editing this to add, congrats. Fifteen years isn't nothing. Let's aim for fifteen hundred more, or summat.Last modified on 2022-10-10 at 02:56

Well, no. In fact vndb only has PM4 and 5. PM1-3 are specifically stated on the not allowed list (d15#2).
but I'm not really clear on where the line between VN-with-numbers and RPG-with-novel-segments line is drawn
At least 50% VN style + narration + long storytelling segments (from d2#1) is the broad requirement for a game able to be added to the database.

< report >#983 I played 3 hours and a half of "Boat" now and that thing is indeed a pure vn. A very weird one, even changing resolutions and background art, as well as sprites mid-game. But nonetheless a pure ren'py based vn with just clickable choices to get to the routes.

Btw, I do have a question about making a page for the game itself. Specifically, about the resolution of the cover I would have to use. Do we have some solid info here which I could read up on that. I have to admit. Until now, I never created a whole new game entry myself, so If these are noob questions, that is the reason. ;)Last modified on 2022-10-12 at 07:53

< report >The Curse of Black Bone - Was this added by someone who actually played it or someone just guessing from the Steam entry? I had a free copy and played VERY briefly and from what I saw the game was styled more like an RPG, with 3d walkaround characters and pathfinding and so on. I'm not 100% sure it qualifies as a VN. Though I didn't play long because from what I remember the walking was slow and boring.

(i thought of this because I was adding their most recent game which actually is a VN)

< report >Shirokuma-kun no Oshiri Asobi
Donpei-kun no Oshiri Asobi

Do these actually qualify as VNs? Looking at the booth pages it looks like they're just interactive touching games with limited text.

< report >IV? AV!!
Don't think this one qualifies as vn. It's more like a collection of animations with a very slight simulation element (no narrative, no plot/story, no sprites, just pick dialog choices which the girl replies to)Last modified on 2023-02-24 at 14:49

< report >Yeah, this one doesn't look much like a VN. I assume the other game in the series is the same, though I cannot find a video regarding it. I'll remove both games in a day or so, unless someone has proof the second game is more of a VN.

< report >I have both games. I haven't properly played the other game but it seems more like a VN to me. The game is mostly presented in ADV style without too many intrusive things interrupting it. A very short video, but this is what most of it looks like: link.

< report >While 8 minute video is hardly representative of a whole game, the excerpt shown is indeed much more Vn-like than the predecessor game. Hence I'll only remove the first game.

< report >Despite it being shaped with a certain features of a VN, a do not consider it so. A VN always needs a programmed engine to run, while something made in a presentation program is just a web-comic as far as I'm concerned. Otherwise we could say that, any of the comics on exhentai are VNs, as we flip the pages in a web browser.
