< report >Not 100% sure about this but I think the original version of Hakuchuumu no Aojashin and the new all ages JP/CN versions don't have the setting for Case 1 as a university. There was a lot of talk because the developers changed the setting to a university only in the all ages English version.
So should Hatano Rin and Arishima Kaoru have the roles 'University Student' and 'University Teacher' if it exists in only one language/version?Last modified on 2022-01-09 at 08:47

< report >changes caused by censorship should not be applied imho. the same way we don't set a character age 18 just because the game said that all the characters in game is at least 18 (an 18 middle schooler? yeah right).

< report >how do we handle エ in JP vn titles when it means H? do we leave it as is or replace it with an H?
also about the romaji of such titles in both cases (エ or H in title), is it romanized to H or ecchi?Last modified on 2022-01-10 at 01:48

< report >Yeah, that seems really strange. エ is the "e" vowel, and generally if they want H, they use an actual H, especially since the two have different orientations. I gotta see the exception to this.

< report >my bad... it seems to be エッチ... I just saw エ and H and made the 90 degree connection ._. now I feel bad for not reading the full name
anyways... about エッチ... how is it romanized? to H or to ecchi? (it differs between sites and it gets replaced by H in the JP name on some sites)Last modified on 2022-01-10 at 11:12

< report >エッチ is ecchi and H is just H. no need to complicate it this time.
(it differs between sites and it gets replaced by H in the JP name on some sites)same as Ileca, official site should be prioritized before anywhere else. but I tend to look at the cover and in-game title as well and add them as aliases if there are any differences among them.Last modified on 2022-01-10 at 11:33

< report >One quick question. Suppose, we have a game, where one heroine inevitably dies. And we also have some FD, where she never dies. So, should she have an "Avoidable Death" trait or not?Last modified on 2022-01-10 at 12:36

< report >I would say if the heroine always dies in the original game and always lives in the FD, she should not have the "Avoidable death" trait as there is no game condition tied to the outcome.
Unless you propose that the way to avoid her death is to only play the FD and ignore the original game completely, but that does not make much sense.Last modified on 2022-01-10 at 12:15

Yes, a guy thinking differently would be strange. Thanks.

Well, strange guys are here, so we need a mod assistance to decide, can we count her not dying in the FD as Avoidable Death or not.

< report >I could actually see the "Avoidable death" trait being used in this case but for completely different reason. The heroines death (iirc) is only shown in her route in the original game, so technically you avoided seeing her die in other routes (even though she would still die eventually and you as the player did nothing to stop it).
For the trait spanning the base game and FD... I have to admit I do not like it being used that way. Not sure if its a general expectation, but I expect a trait of a character to be tied to a single VN entry, so I would rather tag her with "Death" (because base game) and add a comment about the FD shenanigans into the description.

< report >I also dislike using the trait in such a way. Such important traits probably shouldn't span a few VNs. I agree with Cubky that a more generic trait would fit better in such situations.

< report >I'd say that's the shortcoming of not cloning/duplicating characters for every single vn
What would you do if there is a game with a sequel where the heroine lives happily in the first then dies in the second or, more interestingly, vice versa? They both count as the original game
If you say it's the same character and that these are official releases so we should just stick to what happens in the end then I think that can apply to FDs when games have no sequel tooLast modified on 2022-01-10 at 19:56

< report >This hypothetical case is no different from what #912 pointed at, so my answer stays the same - mark as "Death" and add a comment to description if you feel it is necessary to add more detail.
The issue with traits that get applied with spanning multiple entries in mind is that it gets very confusing very fast.
Looking at a heroine with "Avoidable Death" showing up in two games, you have no idea if the she dies in the first game or the second game, if the death is avoidable in the first game or the second game, not even if the death can be avoided in the same game where she dies. And the matrix only gets worse once she shows up in more games...
I would say the trait should be applied only to characters that die in a game and the player is able to prevent the character from dying through the same means in the same game.Last modified on 2022-01-10 at 20:17

< report >I honestly feel the same... but the point is any such detail must be added somewhere since it gets confusing specially that we use characters for more than one game instead of duplicating/cloning them and it's no different than giving her the death trait and staying silent since she appears in two games you would immediately assume she dies in the second and not the first
but the issue with this is now there will be a lot more cases where commenting is necessary... isn't that a sign that there is an issue with the current system?
maybe make it a rule to add cloned characters to FDs and other weird releases instead of the original characters? or maybe remove such traits and instead just use a generic "heroine death" tag in the vn? idkLast modified on 2022-01-10 at 20:26

< report >should protagonist/heroine gender tags on a game be what they actually are (story-wise) or to what they currently are in the game?
sexual tags as well... should they be the gender they were in the sex scene in reference or what they actually are?
the specific question is a game where a mother tells her son that she's his father and he'll turn into a female if he doesn't do a specific thing by a certain age (actually futanari but that's a spoiler)
then after eventually failing, the father (which is currently a futa) has sex with his son (also futa)
now should this be father/son or futa/futa incest which needs tags that we currently lack?
also, probably more suited for the tags thread but we need those futa/futa incest tag variations which are better suited to be added by mod imo (we have too many variations)Last modified on 2022-01-16 at 00:01

< report >I assume you are talking about this Josou de Haramasete, the legend itself.
now buddy, imagine you have a father who undergo a sex reassignment surgery for whatever reason, would you call him a mother as a result? I would say no. he never gave birth to you.
however, it's a different story if he recognized as one by law. de jure and de facto. adopting your cousin as your sister is a thing in real life (and there's a vn example as well Canvas 2 ~Akaneiro no Palette~), so the same thing like father who-is-a-mother-by-law might happen.
now the main case. I would say that Kamishiro Aki is protag's father because in fact, they was not the one who gave birth to him. but if he and everyone around him recognize them as one, they can be called as his mother as well.
as a result, I would apply Protagonist's Blood-related Father as a Hero with higher weight while Protagonist's Non-blood-related Mother as a Heroine lower plus adding a comment on the tags. so do the sexual tags equivalent.
futa/futa incestwe don't need a tag that specific and rare. just apply Futanari on Futanari + Incest variantsLast modified on 2022-01-16 at 02:12
