Can't Get Endings? - Solved

< report >-Slight spoilers below! Read at your own peril.-

No idea if anyone's still playing this, but I'm at my wit's end trying to get this game to work. It runs and displays just fine up until where I assume the ending song is meant to play (right after Keisuke collapses following the escape through the tunnel), at which point the game freezes and refuses to respond until I force-close it using Task Manager. This has happened with every route so far, and as a result, I haven't been able to make the final choices that are supposed to get me character endings according to this guide: link .

I'm running it in Windows 10 and I've tried compatibility mode with Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows XP, all with no luck. If I'm being an idiot and I've overlooked something obvious, I apologize. I would be much obliged for any advice on how to fix this.Last modified on 2017-02-20 at 23:25

< report >I´m sorta useless with technical stuff, but I´ve experienced a few bugs in games. Purely from experience the mg support is a delight to deal with, and always quick to respond.

You can easily reach them with link

Hope you get to finish it soon!
Sorry I cannot provide any real help;/

< report >It's been running fine for me on Windows 8.1 without any compatibility modes so that one should work if any.
Have you tried reinstalling?
Have you tried changing the locale? If you have the MG release it probably doesn't need it and I have no idea if the VN in general even requires it in the first place. Can't hurt to try though.
Alternatively try to run it on virtual Windows (other than 10) directly without compatibility modes (from a save to see if it still freezes).Last modified on 2017-02-20 at 00:11

< report >Thanks for the replies.

Yes, I have reinstalled several times. My computer is usually in Japanese locale by default, so I tried switching back to US and playing again, but the problem persists. I do have the MG version; I'll contact support to see if they can help me. In the mean time, I'm currently trying to run it through virtual Windows and will report back. Thank you for the suggestion. I didn't know that was an option.

Edit: I'll be damned - running the game in Virtualbox Windows 8.1 worked! Thank you so much for the fix, formis! I still don't know why it wasn't working, but in case I don't get a simpler solution from MG, this should allow me to play the game in its entirety.Last modified on 2017-02-20 at 23:24

< report >Eh, it's not much of a fix. Windows 10 is simply just bad with (older) VNs and Japanese games in general (endless issues with Japanese locale and such). Might get better with time but I'm sticking with Win 7 and 8.1 till the support dies.

Anyway, you're welcome and enjoy the second half of the game/endings. :PLast modified on 2017-02-21 at 11:01
