I see this shares a lot of characters with other Nitro+ visual novels, does it affect enjoyment levels at all if you play/read this without prior knowledge from all their other visual novels?

No, you don't need to play any other games to fully enjoy Muramasa. Those characters only appear as short cameos in a dream sequence they made because of nitro+'s tenth anniversary.

@cyberslayer Okay, good to know, thanks for the info. (y)

Wish JAST USA would try get a team together to bring this to English audiences, maybe hire some fan translators and can even do Kickstarter if neccessary.

#4 The main problem with that is the text display. Murumasa uses vertical text (up-down) whereas most VNs use vertical text. Combine that with the difficult writing and extreme length, and it makes sense that no translators want to touch this one.Last modified on 2017-06-23 at 19:55

I believe it has been done, just converting it to horizontal. However, if CGs and sprite placement relies on vertical text... it may get into quite the difficult translation.

The writing isn't that difficult. Narahara can get pretty long-winded, but aside of the heavy vocabulary, it's all straightforward sentences for the most part. Also, is it really necessary to add that it "shares characters" on the VN connections just because of a silly reference scene? This only makes the relations chart an even greater mess than it already is.Last modified on 2017-06-23 at 21:25

they ARE necessary because they are all kamiges and give you proper context on how they make vn as opposed to just hoping on the muramasa hype train and disrespecting everything that led up to it.

Also Kikokugai remake had vertical boxes and that was solved by like the one guy working on the project, its a meme issue
