I don't know..what's the point in breathing or eating?
Survival but mostly avoiding the pain of suffocation/starvation. If you see no point in living, there are better, quicker and painless ways to end your existence.

What's the point in reading it then?
It's called entertainment, google it.

You are welcome.

< report >@3: I was actually questioning if there have been recent advancements in ways to stay alive without breathing or eating. Perhaps I could purchase such a piece of technology for my own use.Last modified on 2017-07-20 at 07:43

< report >@4: Asking "what's the point" is commonly or rather solely used for asking "why", usually the reason for something being, but welp... while on can stay alive without eating when receiving TNA (total nutrient admixture, through IV pumps, not really that recent), it sure ain't recommended even if you don't have to digest either, for plenty of various many reasons.

Otherwise, nope, you still gotta eat and breath in one way or another and it sure better ain't on any life support, no matter how compact and sophisticated (and yes, even supposedly future tech, cybernetic organs that somehow perform better than their organic counterpart, are still worse and on the level of a prosthetic, a healthy organ is still the best).

< report >@6: I don't know #3 seemed pretty reasonable. I mean what's the point of reading any VN? Entertainment, fun, duh.

Besides, considering Steins;Gate deals with alternate realities and time-travel the non-canonicity is questionable at best.Last modified on 2017-07-20 at 11:08

< report >@6, I'm sorry to tell you pot, we ain't kettle (actually I'm not sorry, this is merely common courtesy)

Indeed, having any work be inspiring or something along the lines is merely a bonus and not necessarily always wished for, heck, just take a look at the current anime season: Centaur no Nayami has everyone other than the horse worry about a dystopia...

which incidentally the current left kinda tries to create: 1st episode "Therefore, equality is often more valuable than civil rights, and even life itself!"=>any sign of possible discrimination or abuse based on racial features lands ya in a correction facility. Also, have a prohibited part time job and you will be expelled apparently instantly... not really benevolent either, especially when used for literal blackmail in the 2nd episode because ofc systems can and will be abused and not rarely even made to be. That sh!t is too heavy for supposedly slice of life comedy which that work otherwise indeed is, just with monster girls and I do not even like monster girls more than non-monster ones.

< report >What else do you expect? Are you also asking, why would you read fanfiction? Why would you read doujinshi? Why would you listen to touhou remixes or really remixes of any music? Why would you watch anime adapting a manga or something else?

Because it can be fun.

Not one single answer to my actual question.
Now, there are two ways to interpret this, either...

You actually meant to ask if this was canon.

Which would beg the question how retarded one has to be when it is in the description, and the very first words no less

or

You simply can not accept that one could simply enjoy something

Which would also beg the question how retarded one has to be, especially since by no means ; and similar works are anything more than entertainment anyway.

Are you also asking, why would you read fanfiction? Why would you read doujinshi?
Well, the answer to that would be about a different kind of "enjoyment" ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
