< report >IDK if someone said this already, but I think that there should be a "has a route" tag/trait. Very often not all female (or male for otome/yaoi) Main Characters have an actual route. Also, there should be a tag for a so-called Central Heroine.Last modified on 2021-10-21 at 04:41

< report >For tags suggestions: t3617
We already have Central Heroine and Central Hero
Not a tag, but a very similar trait called Has Route(s) was denied. You can see the discussion about that starting in t3617.2450Last modified on 2021-10-21 at 03:55

< report >@1053 Those are game tags, not heroine/hero tags. I've checked the discussion and basically, this super necessary tag/trait doesn't exist just because 1% of games don't "fit" it by its default definition? Lol. It seems that people would need to continue using walkthroughs just to figure out if their favorite girl has a route.Last modified on 2021-10-21 at 04:41

< report >@1054

from Has Route(s): "Frankly, I agree with Yorhel that this shouldn't be a trait and should be marked alongside the Main / Side character denominators. Go pester Yorhel again to not forget to create such a function."

It really does not need a trait.

< report >@1054 That's never gonna happen, the admins say that "there's no way to define what a heroine is, there needs a discussion", and then I try to help by bringing up some ideas, but all of them just ignore and don't bother discussing. Just give it up.

< report >
If you go to a user's profile page, their username will be always capitalized in the "Username" field... Can this be fixed please? Some usernames look weird because of this.
I've gone back and forth on this one a few times. I've removed the automatic capitalization now, and in return I've changed the username policy to allow uppercase characters. You can also change your username from your profile page now.

< report >Ohnono, now there's inconsistent capitalization between users on the boards and in recent changes. It looks so ugly.

< report >Guys, I don't know if this has already been suggested, but I suggest adding information to the companies/amateur groups page (vndb.org/p) about whether a company/amateur group is active or not. That is, if the company/amateur group closed/bankrupt, etc., then specify "Not active", otherwise "Active". And indicate the reason for closing, if it is known.Last modified on 2021-10-28 at 16:17

< report >#1063 That's fine, if the status is actually known. It isn't always, though. I don't think a binary flag would be adequate for this.

Speaking of notes, is it just me or are they buggy as hell? What i tried was fill in some review links for a few older games. And every time i got it to remember those links i had to clear the vote, sometimes even remove and re-add the game entirely. While that might just be a small issue for some, suddenly having games i finished years ago show up as "recently" voted just rubs me the wrong way. If i missed something and there is a confirmation shown when those notes are saved, let me know. All it did for me was spin the loading circle for what felt like minutes on end. And that looked like a bug as well.

Edit: Seems like it's not as bad as i first thought. Spamming the notes icon itself seems to do the trick after a few clicks, but the calendar feature rarely works still.Last modified on 2021-11-11 at 01:13

< report >@hansfranz77: You might want to debug those problems a bit, because that's not behavior I've observed. Is your network stable? Do you have any browser plugins or "anti-virus" malware that could perhaps interfere with VNDB trying to save your notes?

< report >I am not sure if this is under the purview of the categorization that VNDB does or whether it has been suggested but I was thinking that maybe there should be a tag or maybe somewhere else or something new added entirely that tells about where a visual novel's safe files located. E.g. Rewrite's save files are in "C:\This PC\Documents\Key\Rewrite" while Evenicle's save files are inside the game folder itself (IIRC). So maybe if this save file location tag were to be implemented then maybe two broad categories, with the above example as a basis, 'inside the game folder' and 'not inside game folder'. These categories probably can be specified further from someone who knows more about these things compared to me

< report >#1073, or you could just download a save file off the internet which will have a readme which tells you exactly where to put them.

< report >PC Gaming Wiki collects that kind of technical information about games among other things, and includes a number of visual novels (example: link). Maybe supporting links to PCGW would be more useful than just adding save locations?
