There's another thing I think would be a pretty good choice to add is the possibility to view the following/previous screenshots by clicking on the left/right side of the picture itself.
It's not like it's hard to click on the text at the bottom, this is just another thing I feel would be more comfortable and nice to have.Last modified on 2011-02-09 at 14:14

I would really love a feature where you can see who did the art for a certain game...

Let me attend to some unanswered suggestions...
A really neat feature would be the ability to quote a post directly from within a topic, instead of having to manualy add the tags and the text. That would make it too easy for lazy people to quote whole posts and add a single line of new content. Manually quoting isn't that bad, and is more flexible. :-)
but maybe it'd be a good idea to only add translation group releases when they've released a patch of sorts (partial, full, whatever) rather than just sticking a 'TBA' on it and letting it stay like that for several years?Just knowing there is a project ongoing in itself is already quite useful, so we'd like to keep those releases. We do tend to clean up some projects if we have reason to believe that they are dead.
There's another thing I think would be a pretty good choice to add is the possibility to view the following/previous screenshots by clicking on the left/right side of the picture itself.I find this counter-intuitive, and quite like how the screenshot viewer behaves at this moment.
I would really love a feature where you can see who did the art for a certain game...Has been on the to-do list for a long time, and will probably stay there for a while as well. :-(

what about a poll?

Gah! Sorry, I totally misinterpreted you. I thought you were asking for a poll on deciding new features... -.-'
Damn, I need some sleep... :P
P.S.: In that way, the idea itself is not that bad, although I can imagine there would be some pretty nasty wars about such polls... Especially the most annoying poster one. :PLast modified on 2011-02-09 at 18:28

that is supposed to be the fun part! :P
Forums excist because of discussions. It would be great if we could discuss about such things with a poll.
It could even work as feedback!

oy oy, this thread is for suggestion, refrain from going off-topic :P We may discuss this when yorhel thinks the poll is a good idea and adds one (don't feel obligated btw yorhel, suggestions are suggestions for a reason, they can be denied).

Poll's eh... "what Heroine did you like most". Well sure, why not. It is definitely useful for all those GD threads. (Obviously "how much did you like the game" doesn't make sense though)

That would make it too easy for lazy people to quote whole posts and add a single line of new content. Manually quoting isn't that bad, and is more flexible. :-)That's why I like it when the quote button only copies the portion you actually highlighted, not the whole post.

yeah, the current quote system is perfect, i hate having to snip out 95% of a paragraph of text to single out something with a quote all button

That's why I like it when the quote button only copies the portion you actually highlighted, not the whole post.Oh, that may not even be such a bad idea, though it will be a huge pain to implement this in a way that it also copies over the underlying bbcodes in the post. >_>
PollsMaybe, as a fun-feature or so. No plans for this at the moment at least.

Can we have another filter based on the popularity or the ratings of specific novels?
For example, if I want to filter novels with Mystery tags, with score tag of 3 ( which indicates that the game itself contains LOTS of mystery stuffs-I hope I'm right here), I can make a list of them easily with the current system. The point is, sometimes, I don't know where to start. So I usually use the rating and the popularity to dictate what I'll read next.
I want a filter menu such as: popularity from 2-3, 3-4,... or rating from 6-7, 8-9....
PS:It could be awesome if you can implement some features so that we can have control on the range of the menu ourselves (like from 6-10, instead of from only 6-7)....
Edit: to clarify for my shitty English, it goes like this: If I have a list like this , I can not choose both the novels which have tag score of 3 and popularity from 2-3, with rating from 5-6.
Sure, I can do it manually, but that can be applied with short length tag list, not a lengthy one like that "No sexual Content" tag.
Few, I need to improve my writing....Last modified on 2011-02-18 at 00:46

Can we have another filter based on the popularity or the ratings of specific novels?Hmm, I'm inclided to deny this request for the sole purpose of telling people to not take those numbers too seriously. Especially the popularity ranging, that number hardly says anything if the popularity is lower than 10. And the number of VNs with a popularity higher than 10 is quite small, doesn't even cover two pages.
from the other thread: good idea might be to make gameplay tag = not a metatagAlready done yesterday. But it took me a while before I managed to convince echomateria, and in that discussion the tag somehow got renamed to "Other Gameplay Elements" due to our differences with the definition of "Gameplay". >_>

Since we have a VN list, I thought it'd be nice if we could get status banners people can put on their signatures like MyAnimeList has for their anime database...It could show the current VN we're playing and the last two or three we finished 0.o

No. It's fine as it is. Banners or whatever you want to call them serve no purpose and are too redundant.

They do serve a purpose, to be used in other forums and such to bring attention to this site and also the VNs I play 0.o
I'm not sure what you mean by redundant, as far as I know, we have no such feature
#50 by saberger
2011-03-04 at 01:43
Wait, I'm sorry. I mistook your lines.
If you meant the banners to be on other sites, then it's fine, I guess.
If you meant the banners to be on VNDB, then it's not fine.
But I think you wanted the former, not the latter. Anyway, the feature has already been implemented
Edit: Wait, I'm confused. Your first post clearly indicated that you wanted them on VNDB, but your second post:
to be used in other forums and such to bring attention to this siteshowed that you wanted for them to be on other sites. Can you clarify?
I disagree with using them on VNDB, as it's not important to let people know what others play, the vote features does its role well, and therefore, banners are redundant Last modified on 2011-03-04 at 01:48
