< report >It'd be nice to have an "engine" column in a visual novel's "releases" tab.

< report >surely it wouldn't be too hard to create an autoswapper in case someone gets the name and original name fields the wrong way around when making a new character? like just have an automated edit that flips them with an edit summary of "automatically flipped name and original name. please revert if this was incorrect"

< report >Can we please add "Unknown" as an option to the release date field?

Theres this one VN, Horror Tales which has been completely released. But I literally cannot find any info for what the release date was. I can't even find a year. I ended up opting to use a placeholder on the release page just so I'd be able to rate the game.

< report >bumping my post t950.774. I once again encountered characters whose month of their birthday is known, but not the day. it's currently impossible to put only the month. the only way around is by putting it in the character's description.

< report >VNDB should separate Chinese into Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. It's annoying having to put if it is TC or SC in description of releases.Last modified on 2021-08-29 at 17:00

< report >Just like somebody already pointed out there (also I didn't know someone already suggested it before my bad) SC readers usually have more trouble reading TC and vice versa. Having them separate would help people who learn Chinese which release they should get if it is TC or SC. Having simply 'Chinese' is vague imo.

Also I saw yorhel concern about messing up existing entries. The only solution here would manually edit them already since I doubt there is a way to automatically edit them.Last modified on 2021-08-29 at 17:39

< report >Priority for the entries in the homepage latest reviews is messed up. It currently goes like this: time added/author > size (mini/full) > reviewed game/link. What this means is that on low resolution monitors or cellphones, it's impossible to click on many reviews, since that section of the entry is ellipsed out. Pretty annoying. Example: link

< report >similar problem with releases and flags. when those stupid 'machine translated into every language under the sun' games come out you can hardly if at all tell what game it isLast modified on 2021-08-30 at 21:57

< report >I would like to have tags for visual novel developers themselves telling what types of visual novels they usually make. Would make it much easier to find types of visual novels that you like from developers whose visual novels you have not read yet.

< report >It would nice to have a feature where we can vote on games anonymously. There's been plenty of times where I wanted to vote on a game, but I didn't want my username to be seen anywhere on the page of the VN.

< report >You can already do that. You just need to give it a private label in your list. Then it will display as "hidden" instead.Last modified on 2021-09-12 at 22:07

< report >That doesn't fix the problem. I tried, but you can't vote unless you label the game "Finished" which will always reveal your name even if you put it on another label that's private.

EDIT: avoiding the "finished" and only using the private one doesn't fix the problem either. My vote is still displayed.Last modified on 2021-09-12 at 22:22

< report >I don't want all of my votes to be private though. Would it really be too much for Yorhel to add a "make vote anonymous" button right next to where the "Remove from list" button is so my vote can be hidden?Last modified on 2021-09-12 at 22:34

< report >#1021 That's odd. When a VN has no public label assigned, it should not be visible to others in your list or on the VN site. As soon as there is at least one public label assigned, then everything about that VN is visible to others.

I'm using the following setup which works for me good enough, maybe it helps: link

< report >Also, I think that to check the visibility of your votes to others, you'd have to view the page while logged out - because you will always see everything when browsing from your own account.

< report >#1023 That fixes nothing.

Yorhel should just simply add a button to hide your vote so dumb stuff like this doesn't happen lmao

This is correct and should work. There's even the 👁 icon to indicate whether your vote is public or not. Are you sure your vote is still displayed somewhere despite not having the 👁?
