#1 by yorhel 2010-11-28 at 10:26 | < report >Update time! - Improved filter selection interface for the release and VN search The filters are presented in a dynamic little box that appears when you click "Filters". Filters are grouped in tabs to make them look less chaotic. While some tabs don't look very stylish, it at least is intuitive and should work pretty well. One of the reasons for this change is that it is now a lot easier implement permanent VN/release filters. While this hasn't been implemented yet, it's realization is certainly getting closer! - New release filters: voiced, animation and original language - New VN filters: length, "has anime" and original language The improved filter selection interface made it far easier for me to add new filters. - Added some Atom feeds Recent announcements: http://vndb.org/feeds/announcements.atom. Recent changes: http://vndb.org/feeds/changes.atom. Recent posts: http://vndb.org/feeds/posts.atom. These feeds are updated every 15 minutes. - Reverted to the old selection box date selector The mouse-over date selection boxes were absolutely annoying in combination with the filter system. :-( - Extended IE6 warning message to show up for IE7 as well The new filter selection interface doesn't work on IE7, and VNDB never looked right on IE7 anyway. Please use a proper browser. - Re-added producer role to collapsed view on producer pages - Use word-level (instead of character-level) diffs for description/notes fields - Various performance improvements, both client side and server side. And a final note for users who browse VNDB in Czech, Hungarian or Russian: the translations haven't been updated yet due to my lack of a proper internet connection. I'll try to give the translators a chance to update the TL soon, but you'll have to live with some English words here and there for now. :-( EDIT: All translations are synchronised now! |

Quote from my logs:Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; <snip>) Have you modified your browser or are you running in some kind of compatibility mode? And no, i'm not going to use firefox or any other browser, thanks. You should. IE8 is still ways behind on other browsers in terms of standards compliance, and I really don't feel like continuing to support that. (Not to mention testing IE8 is a hassle since I don't run windows) |
#8 by irx 2010-11-29 at 08:43 | < report > Have you modified your browser or are you running in some kind of compatibility mode? Not really, but I haven't reinstalled windows xp since 2001 on this pc :D Probably some of the autoupdates gone wrong. Had some weird problems with GFWL not long ago, for example, and had to manually switch some system dlls. Not going to bother with it, since I'm buying a new pc this winter and its time to move for windows 7 anyway. You should. IE8 is still ways behind on other browsers in terms of standards compliance, and I really don't feel like continuing to support that. I know, but such habits die hard - tried most of the alternatives over the years and IE is still the best for my tastes. The only thing that is bugged for me on vndb in IE is adding screenshots, have to use firefox for this, not much of a bother. |
