10FinishedRance 10Final part of the most fun franchise I've ever played in my life. (and by far the best title). Objectively speaking, I think it's pretty hard to comment on this game without taking into consideration all the previous titles. Rance X is not only the culmination of the enormous journey we have made with our famous protagonist, but also a meeting point for all the characters we have met throughout story. On the level of the scenario, there is not much to say... Rance becomes the absolute ruler of humanity, and his goal is to put an end to the tyranny of Jill's royal successor, Kayblis; is there anything better than a full-scale struggle across the continent to prevent a future of slavery and desolation? I doubt it. I mentioned before that this title was a meeting point for many already known faces, and believe me I'm not exaggerating at all, since not only the number of available characters is totally sick (and 3 events for each one in general), but the fact that they are obtained so randomly (to which certain cards and/or events with the patches are added) ensures an almost mandatory replayability. I missed a bit the huge rawness that was shown to us in Kichikuou (including Kayblis' design, which I found much more threatening in that game), however, I have to say that how much I enjoyed this tenth part, completely eclipses any complaint I might have in the way. Alice Soft has done a tremendous job over the years with this story, and it is really depressing to think that it has come to an end. Until we meet again in remake 04, my boi... Gahahahahahaha!2019-08-14
10FinishedSoukou Akki MuramasaMuramasa is a work that makes you reflect on certain things or concepts that we take for granted, and that is that during Kageaki's journey we will accompany him on a path where both death and desolation reign, and where he will enter a moral and existential dilemma about the true value of life, as well as the search for and acceptance of the "I". This initial idea will serve as the basic pillar of what would be the construction of the protagonist in terms of his motivations and personality, and curiously enough, this profile will be totally deconstructed as the hours go by, showing us the most fragile side of humanity, and also the most grotesque and repulsive. The hero who fights against the villains? The sword of justice that will end all evil? War is not a scenario in which we should limit ourselves to the traditional confrontation of good against evil, and Soukou Akki Muramasa will make that quite clear to you through this brilliant epic.2016-02-24
9.5FinishedSubarashiki Hibi ~Furenzoku Sonzai~What can I say that hasn't already been said? Subahibi was one of the flagship works at the time of its premiere, and over the years, that position has not declined in the least. Unfortunately, it is difficult for me to recommend it to anyone; leaving aside its subject matter or references, it covers certain points that could be a bit shocking for a certain sector of the readers. Leaving that warning aside, I can take it for granted that the time invested in it will not be wasted in the least. Are you ready to embark on the madness?2016-09-21
9FinishedDies iraeThe "chuuni" work par excellence; broadly speaking, Dies Irae would be something like Fate but much better executed, since the different routes we find in this novel are much more immersive and epic, to which we can add the continuous presence of characters like Reinhard or Mercurius, who steal all the protagonism in each of their interventions. This is also one of the few titles in which I could get totally attached to the antagonists, and I don't exaggerate in the least when I say that I cried in a certain scene in which they can be seen reunited in the past... a wonderful sample of Masada's excellence in managing to create such endearing characters. Sieg Heil Viktoria!2015-06-24
9FinishedHakuchuumu no AojashinThe first case is undoubtedly one of the best narrative experiences I have had in my whole life.2020-10-30
9FinishedMusicus!Honestly, I feel that I am a tremendous masochist for continuing to read Setoguchi; I had a slight suspicion that I might be exposing myself to having read some of his previous works (Swan Song and Carnival), and really, this writer never ceases to surprise me (and to touch the most sensitive fibers). Following a little bit the previous thought, I strongly recommend that you don't even think about leaving the bad ending until the last one, since I can assure you that you will be looking at the screen for a while and with a huge feeling of discomfort/bitterness (By far one of the most heartbreaking and unfair that I have read). P.S. Mika is a being of light, and her smile must be protected at all costs.2020-01-08
9FinishedSakura no Uta -Sakura no Mori no Ue o Mau-Coming from the hand of Sca-Ji, one might expect a story loaded with philosophy and literary references, and yes, it is definitely loaded with both. Sakura no uta is a novel that enjoys a great quality in almost all its sections (Special mention to the Cg's, which share names with Subahibi and are simply beautiful). In the reading, we will be able to appreciate the inconveniences for which a genius has to pass literally "broken", as well as also the importance of the bonds and of the overcoming. P.S. Ken'ichirou, you're the best!!2016-03-09
9FinishedTobira no Densetsu: Kaze no TsubasaOne of the points that I consider most brilliant when creating Tobiden's world is the enormous importance that trade has in order to generate wealth; monsters will not give us money as it usually happens in rpgs, because here we will have to use the different objects that we find (in the different dungeons in the style of a "treasure hunt") or through the sale of the different materials extracted from the beasts or generating profits thanks to the commercial exchange between towns and cities (imports and exports). With respect to the cast, it has an acceptable depth (although there are many characters, so do not expect the same level of development for all), and what I really rescue from all this is undoubtedly Lucia, since she is not limited to being a mere avatar personifying the heroic image of the typical epics to which we are accustomed, because she has a huge degree of nuances that make her a very perfectly imperfect character, allowing her to be a really attractive protagonist and fully represent her condition as a "human being". This becomes a point of radical importance for the reader's enjoyment when discovering the world in which the adventure takes place, since putting a character with such a marked humanity on a stage where issues such as migratory flows, cultural problems, racial problems, slavery, child exploitation or the machination of different stratagems with political overtones are dealt with is simply a marvel.2020-01-24
9FinishedWhite Album 2 ~Closing Chapter~The plot line, broadly speaking, places considerable emphasis on the hedgehog's dilemma and the damage we can suffer by becoming involved in a greater degree of intimacy with others. Moreover, it also covers romance from the different dimensions inherent to it in a really sublime way, not limiting itself to it as the culmination of the relationship, but making an approach to more negative and complex feelings such as dependence, insecurity, fear or disillusionment. In addition, Maruto has an incredible capacity to use a very emotional language, achieving, from my perspective, a brilliant execution of how a relationship (whether romantic or friendship) can affect us in how we develop on a daily basis, and also, how it can drive or restrict us in how we live.2018-08-21
8.5FinishedKichikuou RanceThis is by far one of the most ahead of its time titles I've ever played in my entire life; I don't understand how a game that offers you so many possibilities could have seen the light of day more than 20 years ago. In general terms, Kichikuou allows us to know the universe of Rance in total depth, showing us the different kingdoms and locations that exist and expanding in an abysmal way the lore shown until then. In addition, this release is undoubtedly one of the rawest and shocking so far, because it is really impressive to discover that even within the so known "demons", there are characters that become more "human" than humans (As we saw in the third part: Leazas Kanraku). I have no doubt that this is a must read for any lover of this franchise, and I would dare to say that even for those who do not (although to fully enjoy it, I strongly recommend having tried the previous games), because it has a map that really feels alive, and with some characters and story that will catch you completely.2019-07-27
8.5FinishedRance IX - Helman Kakumei -The level of satisfaction I felt while reading this eroge was totally unexpected; by far, one of the biggest surprises I've had at the moment is venturing into a title of this franchise. If in the previous story there was a certain emphasis on "family" as a major theme for the plot, in Rance IX, and quite unexpectedly, I feel that romance is totally relevant as one of the pillars that support it, and, as if that weren't enough, such romance is very well executed (Dude, I love Kanami and Shizuka, so their respective routes were the best thing that could have happened to me). In addition to this, the party that we handle in this ninth installment is one of the most solid ones that we have had throughout all the games (Although Pigu is by far the weakest character in that section), to which we must add a clear improvement in the interactions of the characters, and also, a quite interesting scenario and in which it is quite easy to feel immersed (In Rance VI we had already seen an attempt of "coup d'état" or "revolution", reason why it is quite enjoyed that such situation has extended as the main theme of this ninth part).2019-08-08
8.5FinishedSoushuu Senshinkan Gakuen HachimyoujinOnly Masada can match Masada.2020-11-11
8.5FinishedUmineko no Naku Koro niBless you, Ryuukishi. Umineko has one of the strongest intrigues I've seen in this medium, and in addition to that, the characters have well-defined personalities, making the interactions between them feel "real". I consider it one of those works that should definitely be read sometime in life.2015-06-25
8FinishedAiyoku no EustiaAugust's definitely did well with Aiyoku no Eustia. A great cast of characters, a great protagonist (who I warn declines at a certain point in the story) and a dark, cruel and desolate background.2015-10-09
8FinishedCross†ChannelThis is one of those stories that can leave you with a tremendous void after you finish it. Brilliant work Romeo did here.2016-09-21
8FinishedEver17 -The Out of Infinity-The tension you can feel at certain moments is definitely a great demonstration of the impressive immersion to which the reader can be exposed thanks to a correct narrative.2015-06-24
8FinishedFata morgana no YakataI don't understand anything... -> Aaaah! So that was it! -> Wait... What? -> No, seriously, what happened?! (Repeats the previous cycle many times). It's almost impossible to comment on this story without spoiling it, so I'll just say that it has one of the most "pure" romances I've ever read, which takes place in a scenario where misfortune and tragedy reign. In short, this story made me cry like a baby (although I warn you it has a very exaggeratedly slow start)2018-07-26
8FinishedFate/Stay NightThe flagship work of Type-moon; a story that is divided into 3 parts: The Ideal, The Struggle for the Ideal and Destroying the Ideal (Bring illya back<3)2015-06-24
8FinishedKimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi.Don't ask. Don't use guides. Don't look at reviews. Just enjoy the experience.2020-05-23
8FinishedKitto, Sumiwataru Asairo Yori mo,I am a fervent advocate that some plays gain great value from the "way" in which they try to tell their story, and in Asairo's case, this is complemented by an already interesting setting, and a more than endearing cast. I find especially curious the high level of attachment I felt towards Sasamaru, since going very much against my expectations, he became especially interesting and entertaining despite sharing many features that I do not like at all in a protagonist (Donkan, mainly). Reading this novel really makes you feel part of their world; taking you on a journey where you can afford to enjoy all the details, seeing you immersed in a real sense of calm and generating an uncountable amount of emotions.2019-09-18
8FinishedMaji de Watashi ni Koishinasai!!Top tier comedy2016-02-23
8FinishedRance 03 Leazas KanrakuThis was a really fun read! I have to confess that this was one of those times when I felt great appreciation for the cast almost in its entirety; it's impressive how much I love a character whose only function is to heal us along the different areas we have to explore, or another whose only desire is to have someone to talk to (being part of a wall). These kinds of details show how well the novel is taken care of in general, giving us really epic and emotional moments (like the final battle, or the lament of a demon for having succumbed to a human woman). I would be very short if I had to summarize how much I enjoyed reading this third adventure, where it was achieved quite rightly deep into the various characters (Special mention to Kanami, who undoubtedly stole the show), giving us the opportunity to know facets that until then were very much to the interpretation of the reader ("駄目だ。世界が滅んだとしても駄目だ").2019-07-22
8FinishedRewriteThe interactions between the various characters in the novel are hilarious (especially the Kotarou-Yoshino interventions), and while the story may become a little dense at certain times, I still feel that it was a fairly satisfying experience. If I had to say my preferences, I would be disenchanted by the route of Akane and "Terra". Both of them show a different face to the one we have seen so far of our protagonist, which makes them, from my perspective, the most entertaining and interesting ones.2015-06-24
8FinishedSteins;GateSteins;Gate is one of the best known stories in this medium, and as a matter of fact, it also has one of the best adaptations as far as the world of anime is concerned. The recognition it has gained over the years is not unfounded in the least, as not only does it possess an enviable strength in terms of its story, but it also has two of the best characters we can find in fiction: Okabe and Kuriso. Broadly speaking, and from my perspective, it's the interactions between the two that give this novel such a satisfying feel, since it's so natural and makes the chemistry really palpable. El.Psy.Congroo.2015-06-24
8FinishedSwan SongJust brilliant. From the first minutes, one can already get an idea of the line that story will follow, showing us in a quite graphic way the ugliness and beauty of humanity. In addition, I would like to make a special mention to the characters, which definitely make one become concerned and attached to them; interesting that the opposite can also happen, since I had to stop reading for about four opportunities due to the repulsion I felt for the actions of certain individuals. I have to say that the normal ending is one of the most fascinating and fateful things I have read in a long time, which plays with symbolism and makes use of a beautiful soundtrack, making one really feel the expected emotional impact. Finally, I would like to highlight Yuka, since she was the one who made me finish captivated for this story.2017-03-01
8FinishedUmineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru2015-06-24
7.5FinishedAkatsuki no Goei ~Tsumibukaki Shuumatsuron~I highly recommend the Akatsuki no Goei trilogy. It is certainly a wise choice if you are looking for a good time and a light reading. The strong point, in my opinion, is both its protagonist (Kaito) and the comedy; the weak point? the endings.2017-12-11
7.5FinishedBaldr Sky Dive1 “Lost Memory”2016-03-09
7.5FinishedDaiteikoku超日本帝国ばんざーい!!! Dude, this is a really fun game. Tougou as MC is amazing, because while it's really hilarious to see how direct he can be when he wants to take a character to bed, the most remarkable thing is how much he cares about Maki (親馬鹿), making her future happiness his ultimate motivation to fight for the welfare of mankind (the scenes in which they interact are really adorable). In addition to this, the cast of characters in general is also entertaining (and believe me, it's a really huge cast), although, it's also true that there are some whose only purpose is to add one more erotic scene to the gallery. With regard to the scenario, what I liked most was the construction of the nations with their respective positions and ideologies; the eternal struggle between capitalism and communism (共有主義) will be a constant during much of the game, to which we must add the third position, which in this title -and in a really ingenious way considering certain concepts of sociology- is called fan-scism (alluding to what is known as "cult of personality"). It makes a rather interesting caricature of the extreme ideological polarization of that time (on the eve of the Cold War), and I say "caricature" because it largely emphasizes the worst of both extremes, making quite clear the great problems of fanaticism and alienation. Finally, I can't comment at all on the evil route (as I tend to avoid that kind of content), but the rest of the endings are really satisfying. P.S. F for Akiyama's hair.2020-05-01
7.5FinishedDies irae ~Interview with Kaziklu Bey~This title is so short, but so good... I really enjoyed this story much more than I expected. First of all, the marked contrast between Claudia and Wilhelm is very well executed, allowing to generate scenes with comical, romantic and philosophical purposes of a very good level; the same happens with the rest of the cast, since seeing how they interact in a more mundane way only deepens the feeling of nostalgia after having finished the original game and KKK (special mention to Beatrice, whose interventions are always something I appreciate very much). To this, I must add that I didn't know I missed Reinhard and Mercurius so much until I saw them again; to this day, they remain indisputably one of the best antagonists I have seen in fiction, and that is that no matter how much time passes, I continue to enjoy their respective appearances and dialogues as if it were the first time. With respect to the scenario, we find ourselves with a story of the kind that Masada has accustomed us to, with a constant emphasis on romance and tragedy, and where a much more "human" approach is taken, with the main point of the narrative being light and darkness (life and death), and the true meaning of living (understanding the beauty and value of the finite). Shall I recommend its reading? Absolutely, since although it is true that it is somewhat distant from the main plot, it still has an evident solidity in its own right.2020-06-17
7.5FinishedGrisaia no Kajitsu -Le Fruit de la Grisaia-I have to re-read this.2015-06-24
7.5FinishedKajiri Kamui KaguraWhether you like it or not, it is absolutely essential to have played Dies Irae before to enjoy the full experience that KKK offers; unfortunately, this link to Masada's previous work is precisely what makes this specific novel so opaque. Dies has an impressive cast on many levels, that's obvious, and it's one of those stories where you can even totally empathize with the villains of the moment, making it very clear how solid the writing was; on the other hand, in KKK this section is greatly reduced, making it difficult to create a connection with the new cast. The background and historical context in which the story takes place is, in general terms, the main attraction of this novel. Taking place in a kind of "feudal Japan" (note the quotation marks), it gives it personality and a fresh air compared to its predecessor. Finally, and I reiterate, KKK is a work that appeals a lot to nostalgia, and I repeat this because personally, the scenes that had a direct relationship with DI were the ones that caused the most impact on a general level (The scene between Ryuumei and Momiji is brilliant in every sense of the word, and "Tokoyo" is the most beautiful thing in the universe).2018-07-25
7.5FinishedKakyuusei 2I can understand the controversy itself given the context and the year in which it occurred, however, it is impossible for me to understand how such a factor can have such a great impact when making an overall analysis of this work; Tamaki is by far one of the best exponents of the famous cliché "幼 な じ み", and that is without counting Yuuri or Nanase, with whom one ends up becoming equally attached (especially Nanase, since Nanase is everything that is right in life). The scenario is accessible, and the deepening of the relationship between the protagonist and the heroines feels quite natural, which is greatly appreciated, since at no time is the background of the characters over-exploited in order to generate unnecessary or forced drama.2019-12-13

7.5FinishedRance QuestAn event that in Sengoku marked a turning point, here it already ended up exploding. Rance Quest, as its name suggests, uses a "quest" system to tell its story (which makes it very easy to remember a particular moment of the journey). At first glance, we may feel quite overwhelmed by the sheer number of missions that appear one after another, but they are so entertaining that the number will be more positive than negative. Moreover, in this part we are presented with a quite different (and even shocking) facet of the universe in where the franchise takes place, going deeper into the origins of the world and revealing the why of many things that happen (which could be seen before in kichikuou). The first part (Or game vanilla) is the closest thing to a "slice of life" that we have had so far, being largely limited to the development and insertion of characters, to which Rance's interactions with 2 members of the Kalar stand out (Special mention to Reset, because it is the most adorable thing I have seen in a long time). Already in the expansion - Magnum - we will be put in a situation more according to what the saga is, giving us quite raw and shocking moments that will serve as a prelude to the great final conclusion (among which I highlight one of the most heartbreaking, depressing and self-destructive scenes I've read, which allows us to see the more fragile and human side of Rance).2018-07-26
7.5FinishedTsukihimeI am fascinated by Kohaku, and I feel that both her route and her conclusion are simply the best of this work.2015-06-24
7.5FinishedWhite Album 2 ~Introductory Chapter~Maruto took the drama to a new level with this prelude.2017-03-01
7FinishedAkatsuki no GoeiI highly recommend the Akatsuki no Goei trilogy. It is certainly a wise choice if you are looking for a good time and a light reading. The strong point, in my opinion, is both its protagonist (Kaito) and the comedy; the weak point? the endings.2017-01-13
7FinishedAkatsuki no Goei ~Principal-tachi no Kyuujitsu~I highly recommend the Akatsuki no Goei trilogy. It is certainly a wise choice if you are looking for a good time and a light reading. The strong point, in my opinion, is both its protagonist (Kaito) and the comedy; the weak point? the endings (Discovering Kaito's past is the best thing here).2017-12-09

7FinishedCarnival"もし神様がいたら、きっと人間のことは嫌いなんだと思うな" I confirm it: Setoguchi has a gift for making me feel high levels of discomfort in certain scenes (Previously with Swan Song). Have you thought about how there are times when we'd like to do something, but for some particular reason we can't? Have you thought about what our lives would be like if we could just skip all the bad moments in our day-to-day lives? Carnival presents us with a rather crude scenario, which deals with issues such as child abuse, trauma, psychological disorders and bullying, among others. In the face of these points, it is established how a person can be our light and pillar in those darker moments, and also, that in some cases the families themselves are the ones who leave the worst scars.2019-02-04

7FinishedHanachirasuIt is very difficult for me to make a recommendation of this novel mainly due to the moral inclination of the protagonist, however, if you give it a chance, believe me you will find one of the most enlightening endings you can read.2015-11-29
7FinishedKin'iro LovericheRia is everything. Kin'iro Loveriche would be the first title I've tried by Saga Planets, and I have to say that it was a very pleasant experience. In general terms, it's a full-blown Slice of Life, which makes use of certain industry clichés, and uses them as a resource to generate comedy. It avoids unnecessary drama (typical of stories involving princesses, knights or ojou-sama's) and is only used when the script really deserves it. And speaking of script, Saga Planets presents a story that is easy to understand, which is for the enjoyment of readers who want a good time while glimpsing the occurrences of Ouro and the rest of the cast. Now, while it's true that the story is quite entertaining, I feel that the scenario was not exploited as it really should have been. If we compare the final route and conclusion of the story with the previous ones, it is clear that there is a huge gap in quality between them. As I said at the beginning, Ria is everything, and while it is true that Kin'iro is an entertaining read, it is really her story that is the icing on the cake.2019-01-24
7FinishedKono Yo no Hate de Koi o Utau Shoujo YU-NOI have rather conflicting feelings about this novel. First of all, I must say that I was totally fascinated by the exploration of the first part, since making use of the "save" as an indispensable mechanic to advance in the story, seemed to me simply brilliant; in the initial approach one can feel highly overwhelmed by the complexity of mastering this system, but once you get used to it it is a journey with no return. However (and here comes the complaint), the change of pace between this first part of exploration, and the second part which is much more linear, is too abrupt in terms of execution, and if we add to this the enormous difference between the scenario in which the two stories take place, this only increases the feeling of inconsistency even more. I'm not saying that this second half is totally "bad", but some scenes feel so badly executed, forced and badly written, that instead of producing, for example, sadness in some situations (which I intuit is what they were trying to achieve), the only thing that ends up generating is discomfort.2019-10-25
7FinishedKusarihime ~Euthanasia~Let's see... I'm the kind of person who enjoys it too much when the characters in a story are pretty fucked up mentally and emotionally, and in this title that guilty pleasure definitely reached a pretty high point. I warn that Kusarihime is a story in which the beginning is quite slow (although soporific would be a more accurate approach), and this is because we are in a scenario in which "things happen", but we don't know "what is happening" at all. This feeling will be a constant until the fourth loop (When the whole story of Kiriko finishes), and this I say it because I was close to surrendering with this novel until that precise moment, which is when the story finally begins to have a good rhythm (and to generate a constant wave of mental explosions). During the reading we will find an infinity of flashbacks, which are triggered mainly by an exposure to certain external stimuli by Itsuki, and from there we can get an idea of what is happening, and what is the reason for the actions and reactions of the rest of the characters. The latter are quite complex and unstable, since the more we go into the story, the more we can see that what they are externalizing is a mere facade to try to hide their real intentions, desires or guilt (These words of Sei define and synthesize quite well the collective psyche of the cast: "俺は、醜く惨めだ。その感情で心を埋め尽くしたまま ..."). I'm not lying when I say that I could go on and on about the many thoughts that this title left me, but I feel that this is one of those times when it is better to "experience it for yourself" than to read what others have to say about it (due to a scenario full of moral dilemmas, and in which certain positions or emotions are radicalised to a completely sick extreme).2020-04-27
7FinishedKyonyuu Fantasy Gaiden 2Jesus Christ, the leap in quality between the narrative of the previous titles and this one is totally sickening. Hiroyuki has shown that he has enormous potential to conceive of good characters and to develop backgrounds that involve intrigue (Diplomatic exchanges between countries are amazing), so I really appreciate that with the passage of these installments has been prioritizing the story over the erotic content. Interesting characters are introduced, such as Sexiere (his interventions are masterful) or Langston, which is very appreciated in view of the continuous expansion of the universe. If it weren't for the repetitive nature of the flirting scenes, the score would definitely have been a little higher, because I'm not exaggerating in the least when I say that the political background that has developed up to this point has made this saga much more attractive. In addition to that, I think that the endings, although they are satisfactory, are not entirely in line with the story in general terms, so that is also a point against it. P.s. The Minotaur and Shamsiel are the MVPs in this installment, the assassins are hilarious as ever, and Rosalyn came out of nowhere to become one of the best girls (along with Gladys and Nellis)2020-04-16
7FinishedRance VI - Zeth Houkai -On a playable level, this rance makes use of first-person dungeon exploration; this can be a bit tedious if you want to explore the map 100% given the existence of random encounters. At a story level, the first part is acceptable, dealing with the discrimination between those who handle the magic and those who don't; it is in the second half (with the execution of the "plan") when things really get interesting. Finally, comedy is an ever-present element, which is quite welcome in this kind of game.2018-02-14
