Description

Tomoyo After's story revolves around Okazaki Tomoya and Sakagami Tomoyo. Tomoya has graduated from high school and is now employed as a garbage collector. He and Tomoyo are now seeing each other in a romantic relationship, though Tomoya lives alone in his apartment. One day it is discovered that Tomoyo has a younger half-sister named Mishima Tomo who had been living with her mother, but was recently abandoned. It is eventually decided that Tomo will live in Tomoya's apartment for the time being.

Beside the Adventure part that makes most of the game, Tomoyo After also has RPG elements. In order to complete the game entirely, the player must finish eight of the mini RPGs games called "Dungeons & Takafumis" which are available during certain scenarios as the player continues to play the game.

<report>A massive disappointment. If this were a route in Clannad, it'd be easily the worst written of them all. It reads like bad fan fiction, full of absurd contrivances, cliches and established characters acting out of character for the sake of creating drama. The entire scenario set up is so poorly conceived that the world they live in fails to resemble any sort of convincing reality, and moreover they undo the character development established in Clannad. The few things that do work well in this game, such as its humor and music don't do anything to save this game.

I did not finish this and I don't intend to - it just gets worse the further you get into the game. If you want more Clannad or more Tomoyo, just replay that instead, or find some bad fan fiction, which will cost less.

<report>Good for the most part, questionable ending, but as a big tomoyo fan i'm really happy there is more than just her route in clannad.

Sex scene weren't great, but it's key so it's well know.

I do like this different artstyle but still prefer the original.

Recommended, just a matter of if you like tomoyo and want more of her !

<report>With a fun start and a dramatic end this was enjoyable from start to finish in addition to great music and inspiration to believe love is real and you can find it Tomoyo After very easily became one of my all time favorites. I loved Clannad and I loved Tomoyo so a story focused on her was bond to capture my heart

<report>It is difficult to review this VN. Parts of it are awful. Parts of it are amazing.

The prologue is awful and consists entirely of fan service without any real plot or character development. Tomoyo doesn't even seem like the same character she was in CLANNAD as she's an easily embarassed crybaby. You're best serviced just holding control until the opening movie, which signals the prologue is over.

From there, it gradually gets better. There are three main story arcs. The first is so-so, but the second and third are more like what you'd expect from Key. There are still awkward moments when Tomoyo doesn't feel like Tomoyo, but they get less frequent.

It is definitely worth getting through the bad parts for the good parts.

<report>If you were curious about reading this vn because you love this character, then I implore you NOT to read this. This is simply an attempt at fanservice that falls flat on its face, it will ruin the character for you. So stay away.

I simply wanted to put a short statement about this as a warning to stay away from it. Very rarely do I drop a vn, but this was one of them. For the sake of fairness, I removed my heat of the moment vote from a while ago.

<report>Tomoyo After fails as a sequel.

Pretty much everything that it does conflicts with Tomoyo's original route and it would be better to view this as a completely separate product. The art style is different, the character's personalities have changer and it shares a whopping one voice actress from the prequel.

This isn't necessarily a bad VN, but you will inevitably be disappointed if you came here for the Tomoyo you knew from Clannad, and the writing is worse than the worst route on Clannad. The new characters are really one-dimensional and uninteresting. If only key would have made this VN a bit bigger with a few alternative routes featuring more of these characters, things could have... Read more »
