<report>This has to be one of my favorite visual novels of all time. It’s so unique in almost every way—the way the gameplay works, how the story is set up, the visuals, etc. The characters are super memorable and I definitely found myself cheering for them. I grew to love the photo visuals as scenes generally have many shots that make the scene very engaging and characters expressive. I highly recommend this game!

<report>428 shibuya scramble is my 2nd VN finished in 2021. I enjoyed every sec of my playthrough. This is a very different VN from what I usually play; The most significant change is using real people and real pictures rather than 2d draw art. At first, I didn’t like it and wished it was all 2d art, but after 50hr I loved it. I think it has more emotion than most VN, and I connect the character a lot more. A few problems I had with the VN was I wish there was voice acting, the whole VN is just text with music, like with the art, it was weird for the few Hour I played, but I got used to it, I would of cry more if the sad part had VA, but the VN still made me cry three times.

<report>Masterful narration, seamless blend of multiple genres and tropes, unique progression system, highly interactive (for a VN) and highly replayable given the whopping 90+ endings (only one true end), I think it's the epitome of a complete and enjoyable visual novel experience. Great as a general recommendation to people new to the medium, more so if they hold the preconception that Visual Novel = Eroge.

<report>While I don't think there is "the best vn", I voted this 10/10. Not because it's flawless. Everything have flaws. However, SS is the game that done it own things very well. I saw few people find SS disappointing, from my observation, this mostly cause by the wrong expectations. Sure, SS used to have perfect score and is highly praised. that doesn't mean SS is for everyone. SS is not mysterious-focused type that have serious tone and heavy tension. It is very important to note that SS contains a lot of slapstick comedy. I don't find the first two-three hours mystery that intriguing. Not to say that mystery isn't interesting, but I'd say the thing that keep me playing is the humor and the cast. I enjoy every minutes of SS and recommend it, especially if you like slapstick comedy.

<report>Simply awesome.

I don't wanna say much things about it. Go on and play it, thanks me later.

If we're gonna speak why this game is good, I think It's because of interesting characters and a good plot. The unique style is also pretty awesome for the game. Just good. 8/10

<report>tl;dr: A VN that does things very differently to mixed results but manages to hit enough high notes to make the experience overall pretty great.

428: Shibuya Scramble is an incredibly unique VN. For one, it features a number of simultaneous protagonists each with their own stories. While these stories do take place in Shibuya within the same time period and with the same events taking place each feels very distinct from the others to the point that they have different genres. Despite that, these characters all heavily influence each other, and the player has direct control over this interaction. Decisions made in one character’s ‘route’ for lack of a better term, effect how the story of... Read more »

<report>For anyone wondering what this game is about, it narrates an event that took place in Shibuya city, told from the perspectives of multiple protagonists. Think Baccano! or Durarara!!, for light novels, and Pulp Fiction, for Western movie. You can get a pretty good idea of what this game is like. The protagonists' lives have no intersection with one another at first glance, but inevitably become tangled together as the story unfold.

This game strikes out in how different it is from other visual novels, 428 uses real life pictures of actors as CGs. I was reserved about how well I could immerse myself in it at the start of game. After all, how could one read a visual novel without fictional... Read more »

<report>If you love Sion Sono movies then you`ll like this game. It has a close vibe to Love Exposure and Love and Peace (2015). But somehow I didn`t like it as much as I should be. This game is in my taste in every aspect - themes, characters, humor, plot, but somehow it didn`t click with me this much. I came to conclusion that it`s because the game is too long. In this 30+ hours game, you will see only one crazy day in Shibuya, which you observe from many characters points of view. It`s not a bad concept, BUT it means that in 5 hours of real time reading you got only 1 hour of story progress. Every character story is very dynamic, it`s a really fun and action-packed game, you read so many action... Read more »

<report>This game leaves me with the feeling of watching a good old blockbuster movie. Even it's old and at some points looks comic, it has a charm that grabs your attention from the start and to the final curtain. Not by happenstance, it serves a place in the various tops of visual novels throughout the years.

I've played Steam version on Win10 platform.

+Nicest thrilling story, with many branches and choices that show its importance all the time.
+Actors really work their asses out, as the credits say all directing and video-shooting took about two months, and there is truly a lot of content (~35 hours for full walkthrough).
+Funny bad ends here and there, many easter eggs and twists... Read more »

<report>Goofy as hell, I know. It looks weird. "Why is it live action? That turns me off way so much!" Just listen- it did for me too. However, this game is a goddamn masterpiece. Don't let the live action fool you. It's unlike any other game I've ever played. Every single damn character was amazing and lovable in their own ways. The twists just kept coming in ways that made a lot of sense, and it was honestly an amazing experience. I wish I could reexperience it. I can't believe that this game was originally made for the WII in 2008!

It combines humor and thrilling mystery in such a seamless way. You really won't find anything like this anywhere else. Shibuya Scramble is one of those games that... Read more »
