<report>Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai is now probably one of my favorite visual novels. I've been planning to play it for nearly 2 years, and just now finally finished it.

It doesn't necessarily have the common problem of visual novels where the main character is an annoying guy wo can't fend for himself, which is a major plus. I do hate the part where he refused to Move in and marry (most of) the girls until he was well off. 10 years of dating, not moved in and not married?

Each of the girls and their routes are great, though. Every girl is likeable, their afterstories are decent and provide closure.

Best girls in order:

Sora > Rikka > Segawa > Touko > Marika > Misa

Best routes in order:

Rikka > Segawa > Touko > Sora > Marika > Misa

Great VN. I suggest reading. 10/10 from me.

<report>This game is boring as hell, the H scenes are okay and well drawn. Thats it, theres no plot, just a cringe fest about teenage love. I played this game after finising Majikoi, maybe thats why Im giving such a harsh review, but this game its just plain boting in comparision. Just finished my third route and I just hate leaving a game withouth finising it, but its just too damn boring. Boring.

<report>I decided to play this one because I'd heard a lot of talk about it being some kind of gold standard for romance/slice of life. Well, that's probably true. The heroines are all really likeable, the classroom and club scenes are relatable, and the romance scenes are very comfy. I also want to compliment the realism of some of the interactions. There were several parts where I felt like I was reliving one of my high school romances! That said... It's pretty boring. Don't expect much drama--or depending on the route, ANY drama. I had to take a pretty lengthy pause during each route after the confession, because once the characters' feelings are clear, it's nothing but mushy romance from that point forward. It's definitely not bad, and a great relaxing VN, but it's no masterpiece.

<report>The characters are all interesting and well designed, which made me conflicted as to which route to play first. MC is pretty good, not special in any way, but he doesn't sabotage the story with stupidity like half of all VNs so that's a +1. Overall very comfy VN filled with wholesome vanilla, but you might get tired of it if you're not a huge fan of pure SoL especially in the after story.

<report>I hate dropping this one, but the ultra short common route really screws with the pacing of every route.
The Main Character knows most heroines for just a few days and after a handful of interactions they're suddenly in love.
Shame, cause the characters are likable and it's generally well written, but the pacing to me is just way off.

Needs a short common route tag.

<report>I really tried to get through this one, having seen it recommended so many times based on other VNs that I had liked. However, the story is just so boring. I mean, there's a difference between vanilla and just plain old boring. This VN is boring. Nothing happens for a very long time and in what has been a first for me, I actually fell asleep while playing it. That's not hyperbole. I was sitting right here at my laptop, reading the story, and I somehow managed to fall asleep for an hour during it. I would not recommend this one.

<report>One of the best love simulacrum vns there is. Gets a bit slow in the afterstories where its 70% work related but it is what it is.
Objectively correct route ranking: Rikka, Marika, Sora, Touko, Segawa, Misa

<report>i was hoping that the "pure love story" of the novel would be interesting and heart throbbing. i mean the story is decent as a romance novel and the story development and how everyone transitioned relationships from acquaintances to close friends is wonderful. unfortunately for the romance part, it's one of those love stories with the kind of mc who seem to lose his cool and confidence as his relationships with the heroines develop on a deeper level and he becomes the most boring person in the world when he falls in love giving it a one sided feel for the relationship and he seemed really henpecked even. i was hoping we'd get more mc's like kazuma from making * lovers or darx from bunny black who are fun and can bring more colors in conversations. though it's not that too bad overall.

<report>The worst visual novel I have read and probably one of the worst ever. Just hours and hours of small talk and light chit chat. Shamelessly formulaic and soulless. Trying to extract any meaning or enjoyment from this is a true exercise in futility. I'm convinced such quality work will be mass produced by AI in the not so distant future, so fans of this work have a lot to look forward to. Honestly I'd have to carefully check up on the state of AI generated media before having any confidence it hasn't already surpassed this joke.

<report>Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai is a visual novel developed by Tone Work’s. This game was released for the PC in 2014 (in Japan). This version of the game was translated by Tsurezure Scans in early 2019 (they really did a great job with this one). Minimal spoilers in this review, but I will avoid anything that reveals a crucial plot element in this game. I will provide a general outline of the game while also providing my thoughts on it as a visual novel (production value, story, characters, etc.).

A Look Towards Our Future Together (Setting/Story)

Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai has a setting we’re all accustomed to in this medium. It takes place in a town called Shionagi, and a large portion of the story is... Read more »

<report>Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai is the epitome of innocent Pure Love Story VN. The overall storyline delivers a wholesome love story with a hint of friendship development. The addition of after stories for all of the heroines really gives you a great satisfaction and a sense on completion for the story’s conclusion. The story’s setting is pretty common but I’d say it is well executed. The art style and character's model was pretty and soundtracks was also good. Despite being a little long, there's not too much info-dumping, just focusing on interactions between characters and how the romance developed.

The heroines have pretty generic (run of the mill) personalities in the context of love story VNs... Read more »

<report>This game is very close to being the best pure love story VN ever for me.

Hoshi Ori definitely has a very special place in my heart now after 70 hrs of reading non-stop.

This review will go over how Hoshi Ori tells its overall story, my thoughts on each of the routes and some details later on, and my overall enjoyment of the game in general.

I think it is very important to set the right expectation for this game if you do not enjoy slices of life and low drama/stress stories. You will find this game boring and extremely uneventful. I do notice how many people can not ever find this game interesting since nothing ever really happen in this game eventful thing is just the character talking... Read more »

<report>HOSHI ORI YUME MIRAI IS A MASTERPIECE(For me)

I recently finished it around 52 hours (Usually this VN is 50+ hrs play time) and it was one of the amazing VNs I've played. This VN gives what I want where there are two stories: One is where they are still students and the other is where they are grown ups. And I like how each heroine are treated equally on the after story, where there was I think 2 or 3 scenes that have the same scene as the others. I also kinda like how the story progress from student life to there future life, its like you can actually feel what its like to be growing up and having a growing relationship between you and the heroine. The art and music was actually great, it... Read more »

<report>For me, Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai is one of the best visual novels I've ever read.

The heroines are full of personality and charm! You get a clear idea of their character and goals in the common route. The routes are genuinely fun and they all deliver a strong theme and message within them, making them feel satisfying through the end. The music is poppy and lively, with some of the ending songs being absolutely phenomenal bangers. The artstyle is polish and realistic and I especially love some of the CGs, it really makes the heroines stand out more. The writing is full of wholesome, romantic, and comedic executions. It really mixes well with a few scenes as it makes it feel more heartfelt and... Read more »

<report>Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai Review (If it ain't broke, don't fix it)

- Synthesized Impressions
Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai is comfort, pleasantness, familiarity and fulfillment. It exists for one reason and one reason only, putting you in a good mood. You will watch the characters go through traditional rites of passage, in their teenage and adult years. This is done in a most satisfying and positive way. No semblance of wickedness or distress ever approaches this title.

That is a double edged sword however. Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai knows what to do and how to do it, but it has no ambition to do anything more than just that. The irony here, is inescapable. The VN message focuses on working for a better... Read more »

<report>This review is based on having played the common route, and Rikka's route. I did not have the patience to do additional routes. This was a really difficult game to review, so if I end up being off the mark I apologize.

First off I will be upfront. I wanted to try something different to what I normally read, knowing full well that it's not my kind of thing. From what I understand the focus of this game is the romance, slice of life, and the heroines. So I will talk about that the most, and do my best to keep an open mind.

-Common route and first impression-
The setting of this game is a simple and straightforward one where the protagonist returns to his hometown as a transfer student... Read more »

<report>Pros:
- Nice art, sprites, and CGs
- Tons of H-scenes, if you enjoy vanilla stuff it's a big plus
- Reliable protagonist. He's not the typical dense, unpopular, and awkward MC
- Cozy, heartwarming Slice of Life story sprinkled with Romance and a bit of comedy
- Heroines are interesting, nothing exceptional but at least they don't feel like caricatures of heroine archetypes

Cons:
- Uninteresting side-characters
- Main cast is basically a Pseudo Harem for the Protagonist
- Tons of H-scenes, if you're not into that stuff beware; there's a lot of that in this VN
- Virtually no drama or points of conflict, it really is just some high schoolers living out their daily lives with some romance... Read more »

<report>HoshiOri is like fast food. Pretty common analogy to describe guilty pleasure vns right? Fast food is considered a guilty pleasure. Except real life fast food is at least super concentrated with "flavor” from all the sodium and fat and sugar thus making customers hooked and addicted to it. HoshiOri is just instead supremely bland. Like taking the film container of chicken breast you bought from the grocery cutting it open and throwing it in boiling water and eating it straight up. You’ve just eating fast food that taste bland as heck and there’s negative nutrition values and it doesn’t make much sense (ignore the chicken breast in this example because it’s counterintuitive to this since it...
