Description

After Itsuki’s first year at Hayagase Gakuen passed uneventfully, he thought that if things continued as is, then he would graduate without having done anything. His friends all got girlfriends after the spring break. He didn’t think that they were seeing anyone during school, and it seemed that they had met while working part-time. Itsuki wanted a girlfriend too, so he decided to find a part-time at a place where there were lots of girls. That’s how he started working at Cafe Hot Chocolat with his childhood friend, energetic kouhai, kind senpai and a girl who he thought was out of his league.

Mini reviews

<report>You know a high school romance eroge is nothing special when 2 weeks after it's English localization, the review column is barren as a wasteland.

That said, this one was surprisingly decent. And this is coming from someone who isn't big on Moonstone works in the first place. Perhaps the biggest reason is the length: This (IMO) is the perfect length for the genre, any longer and the routes tend to drag on and get boring.

As for plot, well you get what you'd expect here, if maybe a bit less. Most heroines are copy/pasted from former works, but I found Kushina to be the best/most unique character (she's got some hot h-scenes too). If it wasn't for her, I'd probably give this a 6.

<report>What happend here Moonstone? This feels more like a budget Visual Novel from a small Studio. The Art is very Average to below Average. There are some very low polygon clothes and backgrounds here and there. The Music to say it nicely, is actually pretty bad, there are some truly annoying pieces in it and the majority sounds like it was made on a very low budget.
And for me Love Sweets completely fails at being a Slice of Life Comedy. Because there is zero comedy. Or Am I missing something? It felt like a Slice of Life Romance Story with Zero interesting elements, like Character Development, Comedy, Drama or anything really. Oh and there aren't any Characters ever on Screen besides the Main Heroines, wich makes it pretty boring a lot of times.

3/10 Way to many big mistakes here Moonstone

<report>This VN is sometimes a bit of a slog to get through. YMMV quite a bit here though depending on your personal likes and dislikes.

I really enjoyed Kanae's route, and sort of enjoyed Minamo and Yui's routes, but the other two routes were a drag for me at least (although Kushina is the most popular character per VNDB's poll?).

There was next to no real drama in any route, and it wasn't particularly great writing for the Slice of Life stuff either, which is why I think this just felt dragged out quite a bit. Again though, YMMV depending on what you like and if you vibe with the characters, which I did with only one, so take my review with a grain of salt.
