The charm of Aster lies in the core story (I'd rather not spoil the route structure for you) and its themes. The other segments with different protagonists weren't as powerful, and some of them were written by different people.
One in particular (Hina) was especially bad. I don't believe gender roles are wrong by themselves, they make sense. They become wrong when people are forced into them, and this part takes that up to eleven.
