Description

Hoshina Shuuji has a secret: He has a mysterious power that allows him to perceive the emotions of others.

One of Shuuji’s classmates, Ayachi Nene, likewise has her own grave secret: She will randomly experience periods of strong arousal, something which she has no control over. The two of them had nothing to do with one another beyond just being classmates, until one day, when Shuuji stumbled upon a scene that defied his wildest imaginations. Ayachi Nene, THAT Ayachi Nene is pressing her crotch against the corner of a library table… using it to MASTURBATE?!

Following that one accident, two strangers became friends. They bonded with one another through their shared secrets, and from this, Shuuji came to learn about certain things. That is, not only about the reason for Nene’s random ‘fits’ where she gets uncontrollably aroused, but also about the existence of people called ‘witches’—-Nene’s secret actions as a ‘witch’, and the ‘fits’ she goes through because of that serving as the magnet, a junior, an upperclassman, and a transfer student all congregate together.

Shuuji’s once normal life is thrown into chaos, and with that, a certain faint hope wells up inside of him:

“Maybe this will be the start of something new.”

<report>The incredibly dense and passive protagonist frustrated me to no end. Like, "oh, this girl is blushing profusely and constantly complimenting me. She literally shoved her bооbs in my face. But... what could this mean? Why is she acting so strange? Could it be... haha, I'm getting ahead of myself here, no way she could be interested in me." And this goes on and on, until a really pathetic scene where the girl has to confess herself. And even when they're finally dating the protagonist needs constant reassurance and compliments to do literally anything. Every route is like this.

Really says a lot about the self-esteem of Japanese men.

<report>Pros: Great art; really moe voice acting; catchy tunes; occasionally hits the mark for humour

Cons: Often falls flat when trying to be genuinely dramatic/emotional

Sanoba Witch is an interesting little piece. It's evidently been given a great deal of love in terms of development, with plenty of nice CGs, individual ending songs per heroine, a lengthy "true" route, etc

Where it fails to live up to expectations is when it tries to generate drama - I feel it doesn't do a good job of creating any relatable sense of emotion. Most routes often have to resort to magic-ex-machina (or character idiocy) to push the plot forward & generate tension, and it just becomes dull after awhile

That said, if you temper your expectations & you're just in this for the moe, I think it can still be a fun read

<report>I've seen a lot of people pushing this as the best Yuzusoft game. And while I understand that we're all starved for a truly exceptional Yuzu game, it's just not a company to take risks. The result is always an incredibly inoffensive vn with cute heroines and a "gimmick" of sorts to drive the main plot forward. I will say, though, that Sanoba Witch is one of the better Yuzusoft games; maybe it's nostalgia blindness or something (as this was the first I played), but I genuinely think some of the routes have a very nice build-up and payoff. Just a really sweet time. And, as is the case with all vns released by this company, it drags on in the second half of each route with all the endless ichaichaicha. But oh well, it's not the worst thing in the world.

<report>Played after Cafe Stella, Senren Banka and Riddle Joker (not ordered).
I think this is strongest game Yuzusoft made so far, best girls for everyone, great humor, good QoL stuff in the tech part (saving favorite voicelines, jumping on any chapter in the game).
Do not expect heavy or even medium drama in this game, Yuzusoft is never about that!
10/10 in my book
Fav girls: Nene > Meguru > Tsumugi > Touko > Kariya
Best routes: same as above

<report>⭐ Sanoba Witch is the best among all Yuzusoft romance visual novels. A fan favorite featuring cute girls, fluffy romance, and emotional confessions. And all started with a girl’s masturbation scene.

Pros:
• Adorably cute reactions from the girls; teasing and embarrassment moments are a gold mine, considering the wholesome tone.
• Positive themes of the effects and importance of changing one’s self and helping others.
• Thoughtful and character-focused perspectives of newly experienced romance, being in love, and caring for others.

Cons:
• Personalities can feel very childish in the classic rom-com scenarios
• Uses comments about Hoshina’s pervertedness as a crutch for comedy
• Meguru’s route, while sweet, lacks a driving story plot

<report>Sanoba witch is a great vn and did not disappoint me. All of the characters in this game are excellent. Its got great music with vibes ive yet to experience elsewhere. This vn often gets compared to Senren Banka so ill give my thoughts as well. I found it less enjoyable than Senren Banka overall, but this did have much stronger emotional moments.

<report>I've again made the same mistake of playing another romcom.

Sabbat of the Witch, which clearly wants its name to be something else, comes with a decent twist that gives us something to go along with until our inevitable h-scenes and good endings.

The sheer cuteness of the heroines is this vn's best selling point, alongside a good production quality. The story itself and its flow is decent. Character growth is sort of the focal point here but is hindered by the genre. It, uniquely, features a dad character, adding some nice dynamics.

On the other hand, I noticed it standing half-naked before my eyes at times, and I don't mean touko, I mean clunky dialogue. And despite having finished it just now, I can't remember a sound from the ost, except the opening.

<report>Overall, I really liked it! As far as the routes as a whole, I liked how they covered very different themes. I also liked all the datable heroines were basically nice girls in different ways.

Shuuji is a solid protag with growth I liked. Way better than the annoying simp I thought he was gonna turn out to be. Side characters weren't too bad. Cool dad character, cool bro characters, kinda funny teacher, a few other interesting ones.

I actually quite liked the OST. Catchy SoL and memorable feels stuff. Most of the humor was hilarious.

Sadly, Yuzusoft has this annoying thing where the heroines (especially Meguru here UGH) constantly call protagonist a pervert when he didn't do anything as "humor" and that alone prevented me considering a 10.

<report>This one was quite a surprise for me. You have the usual high quality art, chibi CG, characters, H art and scenes. All around that gold standard Yuzusoft is known for. This game actually started so normally I was considering dropping it, however, what I didn't expect was the sprinkling of nakige this game throws at you, which makes almost every ending just a little bit better. It's nowhere near the likes of a Key game, but it's appreciated. The true ending is also great but far too long.

I'll never doubt a Yuzusoft game again.

<report>While the tone is mostly light and there are plenty of jokes, Sabbat of the Witch uses touching moments and serious issues to develop characters and build an interesting plot. Not all routes are equal, and I’d not use words like ‘masterpiece’ that I’ve seen thrown around, but this is certainly one of Yuzusoft‘s stronger titles.
