Description

Yuusuke is an office worker with a dislike for people, preferring to do his job alone and in silence. When the company he works for suddenly goes bankrupt, he loses his job, and with that, all his motivation disappears, and he becomes a complete shut-in. On one of the rare days he decides to leave his apartment after a week-long video game binge, a mysterious man attacks him and bites his arm. Though Yuusuke manages to escape back to his room, he comes down with a fever and becomes bedridden for several days.

When Yuusuke wakes up, recovered, he goes to resume his normal life, but he soon finds that in the short time he was asleep the world has completely changed. Zombies have emerged in every corner of the world simultaneously, and the few human survivors are now in hiding. However... “Why am I the only one the zombies don’t attack?”

How will Yuusuke take advantage of his new situation, and what will he discover?

[From the official localization announcement]

Based on the popular web novel of the same title. The story covers the first two volumes of the web novel.

<report>I'm rather conflicted about this one. One one hand, the worldbuilding, or even the secret of zombies, how they work, is surprisingly interesting. The writing in itself could also be considered rather good, the story, however, suffers greatly from the abundance of unnecessary h scenes that added completely nothing [besides almost insignificant bits of info from the first two ones that also could be skipped]. Additionally the sprite and normal CG art looked... maybe not awful but certainly bad and I'm not sure why everything wasn't illustrated by a significantly better zombie artist. VA was also included only for women.
Oh, and MC's a rapist though at least the kind that wouldn't try to get every woman in sight.
The game got better near the end so there's to hope vol.2 would be better.

<report>I love zombie and/or post apocalyptic stories, the mc is a badass and kind of an asshole, i like that, not as basic as he could have been, the girls are cute but hardly interesting.

Really good art, good music and voice acting.

It's nothing that special, but if like me you're not tired of zombie stories and having that setting is always a plus then you'll probably enjoy it, recommended !

<report>Not something I was looking forward to or was excited to play, decided to give this a shot at random because the art seemed really nice and it was short, and there's no denying the fact that the art is indeed really good but everything other than that was mediocre at best.

I love zombie stories a lot and this VN's premise was somewhat off-putting because it took away one of the most important aspects that make up a post-apocalyptic zombie story: survival. The protaginst of this VN, Yuusuke Takemura is essentially an oddity who's ignored by the zombies who immediately slaughter and eat up any human they come across. Most might think of this as a "unique setting", but for me, it turned the... Read more »

<report>I walk among zombies (Vol.1) is a concentrated take on apathy, and what drives people, that uses the perceived collapse of society, to demonstrate what is truly important to a human being (from the author's perspective) when standard preconceptions are gone.

I'd like to start with the technical aspects, and tell you right away that most are sub-standard. In other words, the reason to read this, is the story, and you can't expect much from the production values. Those are important in a VN, and it brings down the score.

The most interesting thing (with the above scale in mind), that they managed to achieve was some thought provoking H-scenes, where the writer weaves notions of how simple... Read more »

<report>This review is about the whole series (vol. 1-3 + 0).

First of all, this is a rare chance to see a zombie apocalypse in a VN. The twist is the MC is the only one who can walk among zombies without any risk. And he actively uses this for his needs.

At first, you expect some nukige since the MC uses his ability to satisfy his libido among other things. But the story quickly moves forward, and the h-scenes become pretty rare. This allows you to notice how interesting the MC is. He despises humans, lies, and has his wishes above everything else. But he also constantly helps others, so you can't call him bad, even though he is clearly not a good person.

The story itself is also more... Read more »

<report>I'll put it this way. I dont think they came up with the story and setting first then decided how the characters would interact after. It's pretty obvious the main focus is the h-scenes, which is disappointing. But outside of that, this VN has a lot of interesting moments. At first the idea of our protagonist being practically immune to the zombies seems to further the idea of this VN being primarily for the h-scens first. Which in fairness, it probably is. But its a really interesting premise that I've never really seen before. Admittedly at first glance it seems really stupid. Like there's all the tension and conflict gone. But actually no its the exact opposite. It instead uses our... Read more »
