Description

"This is the story of the 'future' that could not be saved."

December, 2010 - Beta Worldline:

At the end of his journey through countless worldlines filled with untold sorrows and hardship, the protagonist, Okabe Rintarou, sinks into despair and abandons all efforts of saving "her".

As his friends grow concerned for his well-being, Okabe immerses himself in the lifestyle of a serious student in a desperate attempt to push past his guilt and grief.

He attends a college seminar for extra credit while still struggling with trauma, where he comes across two American scientists that belonged to the same school and research team as "her".

After he publicly defends their work against skepticism during a presentation, Okabe is invited to be a test subject for a research project titled "Amadeus"— an experimental AI which uses digitized memories as artificial intelligence avatars, one containing none other than "her" memories.

But little did he know that the project would soon draw him back into that very world of dark conspiracies he had strived to avoid.

The story is inspired by the "Epigraph Trilogy" light novels and other various drama CDs.

<report>I gave a 6/10 score to Stein;Gate 0, but I gave this score just because of how much I like the original S;G(and yes the original S:G is a straight 10/10). The unbiased mark for this vn shd be 5/10 or even lower. S;G 0 is unbelievably disappointing to me.
Many original settings in S;G are being forgotten and violated, making the whole plot become very weird. The true ending is confusing as fuck and doesn't make any sense, which makes me question why the hell did I waste 30 hours completing this vn. I seriously have zero ideas on why people can give a 9/10 or even 10/10 to this crap.
S;G 0 is a badly structured and contradictory vn. If you like the original S;G as I do, then my advice is, DO NOT PLAY THIS. But if you insist, well, good luck to you ;)

<report>Steins;Gate 0 is a pretty weird visual novel to review. There are a lot of problems but at the same time it has some truly amazing moments that at times surpass the original Steins;Gate. Okabe is as amazing as always here and its really interesting to see a different side to him. Additionally the new character Maho is amazing and one of the best characters in the series. Also many of the original side characters get a lot of focus and added depth to them here making them even better than before. With all that said a lot of the new characters, particularly the villains, are boring and pretty forgettable. The plot is also not particularly interesting and suffers from a lack of structure. Overall, read this if you really want more Steins;Gate but its not particularly necessary.

<report>The absolute peak of steins gate is found here, as a sequel it gives a perfect closure to what was built in the previous Steins, the concepts used and how it takes them seems to me the best I've seen reading a NV. As despite being a slice of life at the beginning it takes the concept of timelines to perfection, I have some problems with the work of course, the cast could have been much more and sometimes the plot was very boring but I really enjoyed the evolution of Okabe and his relationship with Kurisu.

<report>Okay, what the fuck happened here. This feels like fan service while trying to be pretentious about it. Not only that but a lot of shit doesn't even make sense theoretically. Kagari needs to stop existing. This vn's redeeming point is Maho, who is best girl.

<report>I enjoyed Steins;Gate Zero. I love the characters and I find the story to be an interesting way of expanding a briefly mentioned, yet extremely important, plot point of the original game. However, there are some factors that bring this game down several notches, likely being caused by a rushed development. Firstly, the art is very inconsistent, especially in CGs. Some can look quite good, while others look off, sometimes even uncanny. Secondly, the route structure can be quite confusing, where instead of having a traditional "common route > individual routes > true ending" structure, Zero instead has branching routes that lead into further branches with endings, which without an example diagram can be a bit overwhelming. As a SciADV game, it's not the best, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

<report>The good
- Maho is my skrunkly and is a cool character
- Okabe is ok

The bad
- Boring and devoid of substance for most of its runtime
- Introduces more pointless characters
- Has barely any stakes
- Repeats itself a lot

The ugly
- Confusing and unintuitive structure
- Horny for no reason

<report>Steins;Gate 0 is probably the best MAGES Visual Novel, in my opinion.

Steins;Gate 0 is an amazing what-if to Steins;Gate showing what happens when you don't fix the main problem in Steins;Gate. The result, is an amazing read of an Alternate Universe to your favourite anime/VN. The translations for Steins;Gate 0 was amazingly well done.

If you're looking for more Steins;Gate, check out Steins;Gate 0.

Rating: 10/10.
