<report>I’m a fan of WLW media and I was really looking forward to reading Highway Blossoms. However, I was pretty disappointed in the execution. I suffered through the painful voice acting and not great H-scenes to get very little payoff. The story was not executed well and the characters were not very enjoyable. I would write it off completely, but it is a yuri game that treats the relationship legitimately. The remastered art was fairly good.

<report>I don’t usually like to judge things in comparison to others, but it’s hard not to when it’s by the same studio. I think I liked the main ship(s) a lot more in Highway Blossoms than in Heart of the Woods, but I think HotW had a much more engaging overall narrative and supporting cast. Definitely worth checking out both if you’re looking for good Yuri though.

<report>makes you want to hit the road and go west. being 18 with nothing tying you down. an adventure awaiting you. a band of friends who seem to be everywhere you are and a newfound love. it's idyllic but it's a game.

that said i do wish it was more...real. the plot doesn't feel like it matters and the characters are who they are. it's short and doesn't give you much reason to be hanging by the edge of your seat. that's not always bad but it's not framed as some slice of life where that's the expectation. still hard not to enjoy the banter.

<report>I have avoided Highway Blossoms for a long time now, as I thought I had a fairly good idea of what it would be like based off the descriptions on the store page.

I'm glad to say I was mistaken, but I'm sorry to say the end product fell below even those expectations.

Highway Blossoms is a game with an utterly ridiculous pretense. The main character, Amber, meets a girl named Marina in the middle of the desert as the result of a car "breakdown". They then, after about 12 hours, end up going on a treasure hunt together. Mind you, that is very little more than a pretext to force them into spending time together, it doesn't really play into their relationship at all, and isn't even a very good... Read more »

<report>I bought Highway Blossoms as part of a bundle in 2020 and since then it has sat in my library. For some reason the game never caught my attention until recently; The premise didn't seem very interesting for some reason.

Girl was I wrong.

I admit that a lot of critique can be given to the novel as a whole.

The soundtrack is alright and some of the music slaps - but it's hardly memorable. Amber is a big music nerd and mentions some specific songs throughout the game, but these are rarely, if ever, heard - I would assume that licensing issues caused this.

The art in the game is also good, but hardly memorable. I praise the artists who drew this, but it's on par with many other Visual... Read more »
