Description

Haruki fulfilled his wish of becoming a teacher, but he soon became disillusioned after his ideals were shattered after witnessing first-hand the corruption at his first post at a private school. Ever since then, he has half-assed his job, having lost his ambition.

One day, his father Hidetsugu, who he broke off relations with, had a request for him from his hospital bed. He was the principal of the Fujiwara night school and he wanted Haruki to become a teacher for the remaining students and help them graduate before the school closes next year. In return, he would receive his father’s vast inheritance. While this alone should be enough to convince him to accept, Haruki thought that it would be a great opportunity to recover what he had lost.

Fujiwara is no ordinary night school; it is a school for drop-outs. Moreover, it is a place full of memories of his late mother. There were three students, as well as one of their daughters. While they aim to graduate from step one, Haruki hopes to finally be able to attain what he had wanted from his career.

<report>Yoruboku takes its premise seriously and generally maintains a wistful, but hopeful atmosphere. The work gives an honest try at exploring the characters' psychologies through perspective shifts, monologues, and some minor interactive elements to varying degrees of success. Drama is generally developed at a good pace, but some blunders/inconsistencies in writing. Work lacks "ambition" to hit true emotional highs, and is held back by its premise & art form (protagonist wants to be a model teacher - can't do that when having relationships with your underage students...) Would have liked to see the protagonist more as a teacher -- i.e a guide, as opposed to a hero that solves the heroines' problems.

<report>Despite each of the girls having a fascade of a smiling face, they all suffer from some kind of mental trauma one way or another.
This has a good plot and premise, the characters are cute and likeable making the readers all sympathize them whenever they have their episodes.
Niijima Kina's route is really by far my favourite and hers is honestly the saddest and the most fucked.

(couldn't be bothered to do Riko's route, gonna do it at a later date)

Edit: h-scenes are pretty good with the moving sprites.
