<report>A VN that needs no introduction. What a unique experience this is, wildly ambitious yet flawed in equal parts. I think DDLC feels like two separate games that are both good in their own right. First half is a more traditional dating simulator with characters that are surprisingly interesting and full of potential. I love how they express themselves through a nice variety of poems (which are delightful to read). It's a unique and creative way of characterizing the cast. The second half is more of a meta horror experience with Eternal Darkness esque elements. I like both halves of the game, but I think instead of complementing each other, they end up wasting the potential of the other. The... Read more »

<report>Writing/gameplay: 9/10
The plot is about three or four days long and I feel this is a good length considering the turn it takes, and the fact you will play this game through a few times. Liked the hints Monika drops that she is 'aware' early on. The writing style is mainly standard, which is fine for me, not too much padding nor too colorful, but has its moments where it gets poetic and darker and really shines. Not a poem reader at all but Yuri's "Wheel" gave me chills.
Meta mechanics were creative and implemented in a fun way, like the .chr file extension hiding easter eggs as well as being a way to pretend the characters are single files in the game that can be deleted. It was very fun... Read more »

<report>Rating : 8/10 “Very Good”
Doki Doki Littérature Club (or DDLC) was my first visual novel who introduced me to this style, like many people since it’s an free english one and many Youtubers made some let’s play about it, that’s why you should read this one fastly if you don’t want to be spoil (there is a free STEAM version if you want). It’s a controversial visual novel because even if he is 19th in popularity, it’s not the same with his ratings, because many visual novel fan gives him more low note.
The game is divided into several acts, everyone as his own atmosphere.
The plot is not really original because at the beginning it’s more a dating simulation than something else but it’s not... Read more »
