<report>Truly an amazing experience. It is both a celebration of the series as well as producing an ending so satisfying I'd almost call it compulsory to play this immediately after the original game if you can.

If you came for the story, you're getting it and then some. Lots of nudges and winks to the prequel novels and further worldbuilding too. It's so heartwarming and uplifting, especially for nitro+.

If you came for the combat? I know lots of people hate it, but I didn't find it too bad, if at times a bit basic. Just remember, leave analog stick on neutral for a second to reset camera and lockon. AIOOOOOON-

But yeah, it's the cherry on top of an already very complete game. It's a fandisc made for fans, by people who know exactly what we love.

<report>This was a fun time. I definitely recommend playing this if you're a fan of Demonbane and you can work past the technical issues on modern operating systems. I recommend checking out the comments of the other review someone left here for tips on that.

Compared to the edition of Demonbane 1 that I played - Zanmataisei Demonbane - the production value here is much higher. The game is fully voiced, the CG transitions are much more fast paced, and there's an entire action combat gameplay mode. The Zanmataisei edition of the first game was sparsely voiced and had a decent amount of CGs, but spread across a ~50 hour game, it made the overall pace feel slow compared to this.
