Description

Rin and Hotaru were friends who attended the same school located in a river valley. After shopping in town, they boarded a train to go home but overslept. When Rin woke up, they were already at the last stop, the village where Hotaru lived. Since she had missed her stop considerably, she decided to stay over at Hotaru’s place for the night. <report>Played the translated version.

Actually I agree with u135371's review. This game has so many shortcomings as a story and lacks any substantial commitment to Camus' philosophy.

The scores are for the music (fantastic), the voice acting (Akino Hana has such a great talent for saying lofty abstract stuff), and the illustration (the environment is sublime, even the tentacle fetish is not that bad - though it's completely redundant).

Finally, the plot. This is something I really struggle about. As a pretty audio-visual oriented person, an art style (call it "form") can easily move me even if the content is sheer gibberish. If a VN moves me due to its form, then I am inclined to find meaning... Read more »

in my personal opinion the visual novel is a masterpiece and a kamige and i wish more people knew about the game and play it although i do think the game is not for everyone. the production quality is high and the cgs and backgrounds look pretty asf.
all of the H scenes are r*pe but they are not necessary for reaching the true end and are optional bad ends. if you don't like it you can just skip all the h scenes honestly.
the game starts with our two protaganists sleeping in a train while they were returning home and when they wake up they are being attacked by some zombie like creatures.
the game has a lot of philosophical dialogue and references and cites a lot of authors like... Read more »

<report>Aoi Sora no Camus is a short game in our favorite genre of comfy semi-horrors that keep referencing philosophers and Miyazawa Kenji.

Two girls are going home and fall asleep in the train. But when they wake up, there is no one else around.

To be honest, the story is far from being the strongest part here. Some lines and developments are kinda silly, and most of the horror scenes fail to make you feel any suspense.

The game shines the most when it's just a journey of two friends in the empty unknown world. There is a lot of comfy scenes and conversations that let you feel the strength of their friendship, and the lack of focus on romance also makes their relationship look fresh.
