Description

Elves are smart, long-lived, and attuned to the wind. Wips can manipulate flame. Segitts have incredible muscular strength. Somehow, humans have learned to survive. In the racially-diverse technopolis of the Seventh Republic, they even dominate.
Out of all the strange and terrible corners of the world, at least humans can feel safe in this one. Here, there’s strength in numbers. Within this country's peacekeeping police force lies a special 13th Division reserved for the troublemakers, eccentrics, and other such unorthodox individuals of the organization.

One human, though? Pitifully outclassed against a single member of almost any other race; it’d never be a fair fight—unless that human was a Keeper or carrying some serious Class A police tech. But tech can be stolen, and far from all Keepers are on the side of justice.
Strict border checks. Pervasive, draconian surveillance, with camera eyes and a computerized spine running signals to the heart of the NPA, the National Police Agency. And the physical hands of this digital dragon? The police themselves. Sometimes the hands of justice grip too tight.
So how’s a nation supposed to keep the peace?

Among this police force, one division dares to stand against the current. One division dares to disobey orders, break regulations, refuse to work overtime, and generally make themselves useless to everyone, especially their bosses, except for people in need. That is our protagonist Hiryuu Ruka.
Despite his outstanding capabilities as an officer, his problematic demeanor and obsession with the events that sparked a past tragedy invited the ire of the upper management and landed him where he is now: the 13th Division of the NPA. The Sideliners.

Ruka prefers to work alone, but the addition of an Elf by the name of Claris to the division put an end to his lone-wolf work style as he was made to pair up with the fresh-out-of-police-school newcomer. As Ruka spends his days bickering with the incompetent newcomer and his incompetent superiors, he rescues a girl who's come to the Seventh Republic in seek of refuge, setting in motion events that would change his life forever.

<report>The first 4 chapter (basically the common route of the game) is really enjoyable. Decent cop drama, engaging cases.

The heroines routes (chapter 5 for each heroine) are quite underwhelming. They felt rushed and underdeveloped.

The game has an open ending, with plenty of plot thread that have not been resolved and is obviously baiting for a sequel.

Overall, it's a decent game, I hope the sequel would be announced soon.

<report>While having major potential, Ryuusei World Actor is disappointing in its execution. The setting, characters, and especially art are quite good, but the routes and villains drag it down.

Each route is short, and in each one you reach a point where h-scenes are pumped out like the author is trying to reach a quota. Not to mention, the routes themselves felt unnecessary and forced. If the vn had foregone routes and focused on one heroine, it would've benefited greatly.

A villain is introduced roughly in each chapter, then quickly ignored or dealt with. They really should've focused on a couple villains rather than the mess it has.

While it has great production values and is somewhat entertaining, overall it feels like its structure was designed by a committee and intended to bait sequels.

<report>The game starts off with 4 chapters of the common route, before branching into the heroine routes.
Each heroine route "attempts" to resolve a plotline introduced in the common route.
(They didn't really resolve anything and left us hanging for the sequel.)
There are 4 heroine routes with the last one (True End) being locked until you complete the other 3.

The immersive worldbuilding got me really invested in the story.
The MC is a sarcastic and unapologetic jerk, which I found entertaining.
He always has something to say in response to whatever shit is thrown at him.
It also got me interested in how the hell will those heroines fall for him.

Overall, it's a fun game with noticeable flaws which surprisingly didn't reduce my enjoyment of it at all.
I'm looking forward to the sequel.

<report>a pretty good prequel, developes enough foreshadowing for the sequel...which makes the personal routes relatively weak. however the artstyle and the H-scenes are totally worth the price, and I have seen on their official twitter about the production of the sequel, thus hopefully it will fill up all the fore shadows created in this one.

<report>Meteor World Actor is a full-on fantasy urban detective story experience.

Carried by Ruka, moments in this visual novel are never dull. Ruka's entertainingly rebellious attitude in addition to the lively well-rounded cast creates an engaging story, supported by its stellar production quality in its crisp character designs, urban cyberpunk-esce aesthetic visuals, and the snazzy mixture of jazz, hard-rock, and blues soundtrack.

With its great foundation of its in-depth world, makes each detective case fascinating and intriguing. Unfortunately, while its initial conflicts are resolved, the battle still continues, leaving open endings and plot threads that may make you unsatisfied on this title alone (the story continues in Badge and Dagger)

<report>The common route is so good but I don't know what happened to the individual routes.
I would rank the routes: Komachi > Claris > Mell > Chiffon. I am ranking them solely based on how good the plots were because the romance in all of them were incredibly rushed and many other elements were very also disappointing.

The best parts of the vn are without a doubt the common route and the epilogue. All the routes (including Claris/"true route") felt out of place which is unfortunate because there were a lot of potential for these routes. I hope the sequel will improve upon this, but it's overall a very solid experience.

<report>While the game has decently interesting setting and characters, its overarching plot will leave you hanging with unanswered questions and random hints that get mentioned once and never again.

Each of the character routes has what id like to call a "small plot" and a "big plot". The small plots are enjoyable: some kept me on the edge of my seat, some were just good and one was mostly just slice of life. The big plotpoints are either only briefly touched upon (like whole delga scenario and Genom political situation) or theyre just left unsovled.

This game is obviously set up for a sequel but at the time of writing this the only info I found on it was vague 1 year old twitter post so who knows if or when we will see it, not to mention getting an English release for it.

<report>Somewhat interesting VN with unorthodox main character, that, however, isn't really all that super amazing, it's just ok

Would give it more but epilogue is a cliffhanger and the sequel totally abandons the heroine routes

<report>I'm personally heavily biased towards this game. It has, in my opinion, the perfect setting. Combine Cyberpunk, Blade Runner, DnD, Railgun/Index, and a ragtag "special" police division and you'll have an idea. It also has great writing, art, music, humor, and a lovable antihero and you're in for a fantastic ride.

There are two reasons why this game isn't a 10. The first reason is rather minor but consistent, some scenes are too long. There were multiple times, at least once every route, where I just wanted to hold ctrl and skip. The other, much larger issue, is how awful every single ending is. Every single ending had me raise my hand and ask, "wait that's it?" Despite that, this games world building and day-to-day experience still make it one of the best games I feel I've ever played.

<report>Amazing plot and amazing "plot". I found the story positively gripping. Watching the antics of the main character is so fun and the world is really nicely fleshed out. To be honest, even without the H scenes it's be a solid visual novel, but damn are the H scenes HOT! All the girls are extremely likable and every route gives you some case related to them that's interesting in it's own right. I'll be waiting with bated breath for the next game in the series to be translated.

<report>World Meteor Actor has some of the wittiest and snappiest dialogue I've seen in a VN. The common route is hilarious because the protagonist is a massive fucking dickhead that knows it and doesn't care; the way the interactions with every single member of the cast usually turn out is just so much fun. Unfortunately, the routes and their respective heroines are rather weak. The production values are really nice and pleasing to the eyes and ears. I recommend World Meteor Actor, but don't get your hopes up about the routes.

<report>The intro arc was mediocre to me and I felt like I needed to push through it without enjoyment. This isn't that uncommon for me so I don't think too much of this. However, the middle bulk of the game was a 9/10, but the endings were so incomplete with tons of loose threads that I only gave it a 7. The sequel just released (in Japanese) so hopefully it wraps up the stories properly. I hate to give it a low score due to endings, but it just felt like they stopped mid story randomly to me.

<report>A very well built vn. Scenery, menu, plot, story, h-scene and art style. They really made a vn with high quality, it never gets boring, the way the story is told is just perfect, the h-scene is late but the good story make up for it very well, everything is well placed, that VN isn't something you find everyday that for sure, the ost is something else, usually vn uses the style we all know but they made something so original, just spectacular, you do miss it when the vn is over, a vn that will be in my memory just as Grisaia,G-Senjou no Maou, Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai and alot of another ones.

<report>This game is agitating. It has all the makings of a great story but it squanders them. The biggest offender here is the MC, Ruka Hiryu. He's lazy, sensitive, and lacks wit. He doesn't have any of the antihero qualities that make us forgive their shortcomings, like charisma or extreme competence. He just kind of sucks.

The setting of a futuristic city inhabited by high fantasy races is cool, but they're rarely given character art unless they're a race that looks almost identical to humans.

There's cool mysteries, but they're often unresolved - the main ending was extremely abrupt. There's large episodic bouts in the middle of stories. There's so much narration in the middle of conversations that I forget what's being talked about sometimes. A sequel with a more narrow focus would be nice.

<report>Dropped it after finishing 3rd chapter (last chapter before heroines' chapters).
Too many plotholes, inconsistent characters behaviour and extremly obnoxious MC. Just imaging him in real life being in police makes me sick. Even though I don't usually apply in-game logic to reality, but this one is an exception. If he was fired from police I believe public safety would only increase. Don't care was he "great detective" before or not, currently he just consumes tax money and proactively sabotages every investigation he touches.
