Having a philosophical focus in your story can be a dangerous thing, as it is likely to make a large amount of readers weary of reading it. Expecting long and dry commentaries on topics that seem trivial, spiced up with big words and little plot, they will either stay away from the work, or even label it with many writers’ most feared word, pretentious.
