Description

It's five days before graduation, and Sasaki Ryou is in school, making up the hours needed to graduate with the other members of his class. For Ryou, it's a quiet time to sit and reflect on the past year and all that has happened. As he thinks back on the past year, he remembers all his friends ... Kaho, who dragged him into the literary arts club against his will. Kaho's strange friend Kyouko, who was secretly in love with him. The oddly antisocial Yuka, so cheerful and yet secretly ashamed of something. His step-sister Ayame, who took such good care of him after their parents died. And the sexy school nurse Kaori, who always had a healing word for him. Every day held real experiences leaving real memories ... days he thought would last forever.

Now the day of graduation draws near, and Ryou knows that he must prepare himself to make a choice.

<report>Crescendo is a game that surprised me. I really expected a long boring reading but this is far from it. Its length and pace were right up my alley and there was seldom a dull moment – even the bad endings were great. It’s like, for the most part, every bit of text is there for a reason. Great voice acting, few choices, brief interaction the main heroines at the start and the knowledge that you only have a couple of days before graduation all add to the nice experience you get while reading this.

As for plot, I loved Yuka, Kaori and Ayame routes and that is considering I don’t usually go for the school nurse or one-san types. Too bad I can’t say the same for the two cover heroines whose routes seemed very predictable and thus underwhelming to me.

Good drama, good read.

<report>I would have love to see an anime adaption of this game but I guess it's too late. Anyways this game was my first visual novel and it's been 3 years it's still the best one I played, at least that's what I think. I can proudly recommend this to you guys. If your new to visual novels this is the way to go my friend. don't expect something crazy it's pretty generic but it's a generic masterpiece.

<report>The story follows the MC in the last days of his school days. It's not a very original settings but believe me, it's a unique experience. Of course the story still needs some polishing but in my opinion, it's worth a reading.

<report>Right off the bat: the VN is great.

One of the most refreshing (oddly, given the VN's age) features of the way it is written is near complete lack of stupidly exaggerated over-the-top behavior of characters, that seems to be so common in later VNs. The decisions they make, their reactions and choices simply make sense in the context of the plot, even if they subvert expectations a bit, sometimes.

There is also certain realism to the endings: even the good ones have some bitter-sweet taste to them. Not sure, but I guess the message is that happiness cannot always be reached without hurting someone, even if unwillingly. This is quite down-to-earth and resonates with me, personally.

<report>I was not expecting to be so unsatisfied reading this vn honestly, but unfortunately, there were too many frustrations and issues that I had and after finishing I was left in a pretty foul mood. So I apologize for the harshness of my review here, but to explain my harshness I will tell you that it's because I saw a lot of wasted potential here.

First off the characters, only one of them felt good to me and that was Kaori. Her character was the only thing that stopped me from rating this vn way lower. I liked Kyouko and Miyu as well but they did not have a personality as well written as Kaori's.
Her route stood alone from the rest, and if this was simply a short story about her and none of... Read more »

<report>Not really an objective review sry..

Story 7.7/10
I kinda had complicated feels about this VN.. I liked Kaori route the most, in that route MC progress beautifully becoming an adult. I'm not talking about drinking or cigarettes but emotionally. For the whole story, tbh I don't know how to express except it's a pity.. It's just feels too short, generally the whole story tells you about MC experiences with the girls before graduation using flashbacks. I think it lacks proper conclusion. I come for 'nakige' feels, but I didn't cried so I think this lacks impact too. Also kinda hate the bad ending too, won't read if not for CGs completion >.> well it's what happen if you choose wrong choice in... Read more »
