Mini reviews

<report>This is the craziest eroge I've ever read, and a definite highlight of 2020. It's creative, hilarious, unpredictable, unique and ambitious. I wrote a full review and analysis here for those interested, but I'm writing this mini-review mainly to caution prospective players - reading Dasaku (and its fandisc) before Dasoku is nothing short of a necessity. If you haven't read Dasaku, you won't understand the vast majority of the jokes, twists or core ideas driving this game at all. I promise you it's not worth it. If you have read Dasaku, I can't recommend this game enough. It's the perfect sequel.

<report>To start things off, this game is not really related to Sakuraba's previous work Dasaku despite some namedrops - it's not a direct sequel or anything so feel free to go into it blind. Well okay, it's a spiritual successor in that it handles the same themes from a slightly different angle.

The basic plot is that the protagonist and four women go stargazing on an uninhabited island and then things go terribly south... But you can probably guess right from the start that this is no normal summer retreat for these characters, since foreshadowing is laid on thick - maybe too thick. There is suspense, and there are some slasher elements, but they're quickly subverted and make way for the meat of... Read more »

<report>A spiritual successor to infamous Dasaku that literally translates as "useless addition". Is it though?

First of all, fans can sleep tight because the main cast is completely different, and Sakuraba Maruo doesn't try to touch the plot of his biggest hit in any way.

And yes, it's safe to read Dasoku without being familiar with Dasaku. You will miss a few minor references but nothing big.

The five characters find themselves locked inside a tower on an uninhabited island and need to hang someone each day until the final survivor can escape.

...unless?

Unless Sakuraba pulls his favorite trick of deceiving the player's expectations again. I won't spoil the story, so let's just say you... Read more »

<report>This is the best hardcore VN to ever release in my honest opinion!

I will not spoiler in this part of the review because i went in completly blind and played Dasaku and then Dasoku back to back, which is the way its ment to be because while it may not be a true sequel it plays in the same universe, has overlapping characters and alot of eastereggs you will not understand. Story breakdown and commentary below!

I cant even begin to describe how delighted i was while reading this VN because it is simple something you will not expect. Being a fan on the Eroguro genre i was seeking out all those titles and then playing through them.
Logically the usual pattern is that its a rather darker... Read more »
