Description

The discovery of a rare gemstone draws people to an exhibit held in Ashiya Tower. Just as the event begins, the tower is flooded with smoke and the emergency shutters activate, trapping 8 people in the tower for the next 12 hours.

With no clear facts about the events occurring inside the building, the public and police can only speculate. Why can't the shutters be opened? Is anyone behind this, and if so, who? Are the people inside even still alive?

These questions can't be answered until the time is up. Even then, describing the events that transpired might prove to be a challenge. Prepare for twists and questions that will keep you theorizing, second-guessing, and searching for the ultimate truth.

<report>I'm sorry to say this one is kinda bad. The mystery and plot idea is good, but the characters are terrible and the writing is needlessly complicated and unnatural. Any character at any moment will suddenly switch to acting like an expert detective and act in completely bizarre ways just to move the plot along. This is a visual novel that shows off its impressive ideas (which it does have) but forgets at times the beauty of simplicity and relatable characters. Not to mention the entire end of the visual novel completely takes you out of the story to ask you a billion questions that are just kinda annoying (we got the twist already... lets move along - what about the characters?). Honestly my enjoyment was about a 2 out of 10, I gave it a 4 to be fair to the effort and throught behind it.

<report>I picked it up because I was desperate for another murder mystery genre VN. I would say its an average read. At least, I finished reading it, which is a positive. Often times with other SoL genre type VNs, I drop them.

After completion, you will have a flowchart unlocked which simplifies some things and explanations, so I am very thankful for that

Now that being said, why the low score? The writing is too verbose and very dry when they start theorizing on many things. Time Travel is a central element to the story which massively overcomplicates things quickly. There were times when I felt really bored and wanted to skip ahead. The ending was also abrupt and disappointing. Overall, I can't lie to myself. The enjoyment factor was not really there for the most part.

<report>One of the best Sci Fi Mystery VNs I have ever read, and amongst my favourite pieces of media I have consumed in any medium, period. Incredibly well written with no plot-holes or rules-breaks that I was able to discern in my time with the story. If you are a fan of engaging with mystery works on a more direct level and trying to solve things as you go, this one is absolutely for you. Even if you prefer to just read through and let the reveals come as they may, I think it can still be a highly enjoyable experience.

My main word of warning would be that the mystery can be very intricate and complex, and this visual novel is VERY information dense at times. If you want to keep up with what is going on there will be a lot you need to keep track of, on at least a vague level at minimum.

<report>There is absolutely no way an average, self-respecting person would sit through this game.

With risk of sounding like the infamous Rick & Morty copypasta, I really do think you have to be a supergenius or at the very least a moderately intelligent masochist to get genuine enjoyment out of this game.

Most characters are flat and they hardly bond at all. It is a lifeless and depressing experience.
The only entertainment to be found here is the mystery, which, in contrast, is absolutely amazing.

But you can't half-heartedly "skip to the good part". The mysteries are so complex that even if the solution is spood-fed to you, you'll still have to carefully reconstruct it all in your head to appreciate them.

It's a pain. It's exhausting. But for those who are into that, it is so worth it.

<report>Started out 10/10 but got progressively more meandering and convoluted. Eventually, it starts to come together but it asks you questions with unintuitive and frankly ridiculous answers. Basically "Because it had to" and "The Selkimeiya did it" are the answer to everything. This is why people say the characters are paper thin - they are just vessels to move the Sekimeiya around the chessboard and activate it when it has to be done for the story to work. Could've been a masterpiece at half the length with all the bullshit cut out. At the end you get a TIPS mode and a flowchart which would have made the game a lot more interesting if they'd introduced it gradually while playing.

<report>Alright, I just can't take this game seriously. All the 10s I'm seeing, I can't relate to. The writing is too wordy and should be trimmed down to sound more natural.

The book style on the screen also doesn't help in combination with the soulless characters. Narration and pacing is terrible: The main character keeps getting into these farfetched theories to sound smart, but in reality they make little to no sense.

The mystery isn't something clever that the player can solve, but relies on information that's left out. I want to like this game and was disappointed I couldn't find a streamer who has finished it before. Now, having played the game myself, I totally understand why no streamer has finished the game.
