Description

After being sent away by his mother due to a terrible misunderstanding involving his closest friend, our protagonist CJ returns years later for the last two semesters of high school completely changed in both body and spirit.

Wielding a newfound power and determined to rekindle his old relationships, can CJ convince his friends he's the same person they used to know? Can he avoid ruining absolutely everything like the doofus he is?

Out of Touch is a psychedelic melodramatic comedy about a group of childhood friends as they grow up, grow apart, and reconnect...before everything really goes off the deep end! Taking an inspiration from psychedelic thrillers, Out of Touch is an extremely odd journey through several genres from teenage romance to existential horror.

<report>Out of Touch is far more than the package gives it credit for. It doesn't take long for the charm of the game to become apparent. The music curated and created specifically for the game, the visuals and camera angles that give more life to every scene, the lovable characters. Everything about the game has presented a nostalgic kind of feeling while still finding ways to mix up the overdone elements seen all too often.

While containing some adult content, its few and far between because every interaction and story beat has a significant role in the development of the characters.

I recommend this game to anyone looking for a good game with a stunning story that's only getting better with every update.

<report>Contrived as hell. Rambling, incoherent mess of a story. Melodrama that jumped far over the level of charming and landed face-first in "nails-on-chalkboard excruciating". Pretentious bulls*** metafiction.

If that sounds appealing to you ... then God help you. And you might like this ... thing, whatever the hell it is.

P.S. I've never been a fan of the "airhead protagonist" trope, as it usually just leads to endless frustration and idiotic contrivance in the plot. This one somehow takes it to a new level. The protagonist isn't so much an airhead as he is borderline retarded.

<report>I have really struggled to rate this game, I want to give it a 1 or even a 2, just because the graphic design of the female characters were perfect before and after on timeskype. And also all the game's sound design, in the "Miami Vice" Synthwave/vaporwave" vibe, shit that I enjoy all the time. so, okay, there's a lot of effort put into this, so I guess +1 for effort.

Consider this as 2 out of 10.

First, I must say that the story is creative, but it suffers greatly because its core is rooted in the power of friendship. "Power of friendship" anime trope, which I hate. I knew what I was seeing but I didn't think it would be so unbearable. Unfortunately, I got angry with Victoria right from... Read more »

<report>This was a VN that started off very strong and gives you a great first impression in the first hours. Unfortunately it does not keep this up and the further into this you get the more it nosedives into a complete mess.

There were a lot of great aspects to OOT that made it stand out against others. Interesting music that was a bit different to most vn's out there. The comedy is more upto date with our current time. The quirkyness, randomness and 'wild ride' main theme was done well at the start. Some really funny trope/meme/one liners that caught me off guard and made me laugh.

There was also some drama that was done decently well and not so typical issues that you wont see too often... Read more »
