Description

“Sensei… how does it feel to love someone?”

In an empty classroom, Konami Izuho, a teacher-in-training, is suddenly kissed by her student Ema Serizawa.

Ema is a popular illustrator who Konami admires, and asks Konami to help with her draw new illustrations.

Konami was hoping to get a sneak peek at some new illustrations and says yes to the task. But the requests from Ema were heart-pounding ones like getting kissed, sharing a bath, and sleeping in the same bed.

“I… didn’t expect helping meant kissing and sharing beds.”

Konami’s meeting with Ema lifts the curtain on a love drama in which Konami’s feelings go back and forth between “admiration” and “love”.

<report>English translation is a little rough (punctuation mistakes here or there and unnecessarily untranslated words with a translation in parenthenses immediately after), but otherwise fine. It's probably not worth the trouble of getting a Japanese nintendo account and a Japanese eshop card code just to buy, but I can't help being a yurifag. In any case, it's pretty much a Sono Hana game with the sex removed, which still means fluffy yuri antics and questionably consensual sexual acts. I didn't know that it was originally meant to release on Steam with 18+ scenes, but I did get an odd feeling that there would have been more yuri rape if it were a 18+ game; the high school heroine is pretty degenerate all things considered. In any case, Sono Hana/10.

<report>While Himitsu no Kiss wa Amaku Yasashiku is a game of unquestionable presentation, the game has very little beyond that. Primarily, the issue lies in that neither of the two characters behaves as though they're an actual individual.

Izuho Konami is not only presented as a complete pushover, but one without even enough agency to properly question what's going on around her.

Serizawa Ema is given little purpose to her actions, what's there being nonsensical, nor enough care to develop her beyond that.

While the game is overall "cute", there's simply nothing to be invested in, as both characters feel like plot devices.

Aside from that, the translation is of a low quality. Misinterpretations and missing nuance is common.

Quite disappointing, but worth touching if you need a yuri fix.

<report>Decent and cute story, but I couldn't get over the spelling and grammar errors. Throughout most of the game, the errors are not that bad and can be ignored easily. After the credits roll, however, the grammar, spelling, and punctation errors get atrocious. Honestly, I couldn't even really enjoy any of the H-scenes because of how terrible the text was, and ended up skipping through most of them without reading, something I rarely do.
