Description

After the mysterious death of his father and his younger sister Juri, Itsuki, now suffering from amnesia, moves back to his hometown with his stepmother. There he meets an enigmatic young girl dressed in a crimson red kimono named Kurame, and the two soon become friends. The strange thing is, Kurame looks exactly like his younger sister Juri...

On the surface, Itsuki's family and friends all appear to be rooting for his full recovery. However, deep inside, they also seem to be burdened with secrets and guilt about the past. <report>Hard to say much about this vn without spoiling. So I'll keep it terse.

I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. CG's are used to show what is happening in the story. Not as a afterthought. Sprites interact and move around on the background, feeling like a part of the world. Music is good, although you hear a few tracks quite often. Together with this. You get the narrative that has multiple layers, you as a reader try to piece it together. Told in a manner that traditional books can't. This vn does a lot of stuff that later inspired later titles in the vn industry.

Hopefully more people will try it out.

<report>Released originally in 2002 by Liar-soft it is considered one of the classics of the medium and it is also one of the first eroge to feature time loops. The story starts with Itsuki returning to his home village by his doctor guidance, six months prior he had an incident where he lost all his memories and returning where he grew up could help make him recover his memories. Upon his returnal he meets with Kurame, a mysterious girl on a red kimono, she’s both creepy and kind of cute.
