Onigokko!

On Miyajima Island, known for its mythical history, a phantom thief has arrived. Ura, known throughout the world as a cunning trickster, has his name is tarnished by an unknown foe masquerading as him. But on this island reside the Three Great families, descended from some of legend's most storied heroes; Momotarou, Kintaro, and Otohime. These families work together to protect the Mystical Treasures and are sworn enemies of the phantom thief. Their youngest descendants, all high schoolers, have taken this oath and vowed to hunt down Ura.

The twist? They're all schoolmates now!

<report>Onigokko! isn’t exceptional and can be frustrating at times. It has its share of charm too though. The heroines are cute and endearing, and the romance is touching when Keisuke’s self-righteousness doesn’t get in the way. And while some of the humor and visuals do feel dated, it’s not enough to ruin the experience. Onigokko! didn’t quite steal my heart and make a clean getaway, but this modern-day fairytale has just enough laughs, love, and magic to be worth your time.

I will admit it now since this will be a very biased review. I got spoiled so hard with how good kinkoi was and I just finished that. the huge downgrade between the two VN is very noticeable. somebody put it this way and I agree:

"The plot is pretty interesting, but all the dialogue that’s not plot related basically boils down to sexual harassment jokes, which is what you expect of games at this time.

This isn’t what I would call a good VN, but it can be enjoyable if you have nothing else to read."

main plot moves very slowly too, and I find it hard to keep my head in the VN. I will hold this off for now (imminent drop) until others give their take on this VN.

<report>I ended up picking this one up because I was told its a little different from the average moege and contains quite a bit of plot and other substantial themes. I was a fool. This really is just a moege with a dash of drama thrown on top that really only lasts an hour or two per route. It wouldn't be a stretch to just call this "Riddle Joker except with ninjas". I did have some fun with it though all things considered and there are a few tidbits of information throughout all the routes that tie everything together in the end, but its nothing spectacular.

I was unwilling to read it at first, but three days later I almost finished it without realising at all.
First thing to say: the most vulnerable spot here is the plot. If you stop for a minute to think about characters actions, the plot will crumble with a loud *THUD*.
These guys really are worst detectives. They will ignore every clue about the secret identity of the enemy rightaway. After getting some really soild clues like height and footprints, they will return to the walking around aimlessly in the next scene.
Apart from that, it's really hard to find faults. Setting, characters and dialogues are high quality stuff. It is interesting to read!

Well it's a well written Moege with all that includes. I don't hate it, it has a very short Common Route and longer individual routes. Kuregas Route is much longer than others, and probably the true route. The routes are written okay but a lot got recycled so... kinda stuff that should have been common route... But it's okay. You'll Will enjoy it if you liked "My GF is the President" or " Nanairo Reincarnation" and similar. Not much deviation there. Okay Drama, Okay Visuals... not shaking your world but might give you wet eyes at times.
