<report>Probably one of the happiest works by Nitro+. It's a very fun ride from start to finish, but it's not just that. It's a story about never giving up, about happy endings, about what makes us love fictional works. It's a heartwarming tribute to both the eroge medium and story-writing in general.

There's not much that can be said without spoiling. Unkoman is easily one of my favourite protagonists, and his HAND OF GLOOOOORY is far too memorable. The heroines are nice (but Oki runs away with best girl and best route for me), and the side characters are all amazing.

And honestly, it's surprisingly underrated (in the west). Maybe the length is off-putting for some, but I can assure you both the journey and the conclusion is very much worth it.

It's a happy end worth fighting for.

Something just didn't click. I later hunted down the fanbook to see if the staff interview could enlighten me to the hidden depths of the scenario, but no dice. I saw everything there was to see in regards to this game and wasn't engaged.

In the end, I mostly ascribe my disappointment to the fact that Sumaga is, at it's core, a character-oriented game, not a story-oriented one. Your... Read more »
