Burdened by the incredible debt his father left behind, Okonogi Masaya is now destitute and alone. However, through a strange collection of events, he finds himself living at the prestigious Vincennes Academy, an all-girls charm school! His purpose is to mingle amongst the Filles De La Vincennes ("Maidens of Vincennes") as the single male "sample" to promote gender integration. How will these young, innocent, and otherwise pure maidens react to his presence?!

<report>Themes and ideas presented are interesting, and sometimes unique.

Visuals are nice, and the characters are decent.

Pacing isn't well done and overtakes a lot of good stuff. Dramatic moments are not given enough time, conflicts are resolved too fast, and the chapter introductions which come every 15 to 30 minutes are jarring, and a bit dumb.

Soundtrack feels lacking, as there are moments in the story where they put no tracks or put something that doesn't quite fit, arguably because they have no appropriate tracks. It also gets a bit repetitive, even from a limited playtime.

<report>Story about a boy who rejected his mother, got dropkicked by his father, leaving the old world behind to be invited to an ever-changing all-girls world by a princess to save her kind from ruin with romance. Flowery drama, amusement, a long cat with a hat, abduction, and yandere eyes incoming. Visual novel is split into 4 different routes after the common route depending on your choices.

<report>I picked this up while taking a break from some darker/heavier VN's. It is basically what it says on the tin it will be: slice of life rom-com set in an all-girls school. I liked that it took itself somewhat serious and despite being a comedy still felt like it had a sense of forward momentum and didn't stagnate too much in the SoL stuff. I usually lean more towards plot-heavy VNs, but it struck a nice middle ground of "not forgetting to still have some kind of stakes" and "being a comedy moe game"

It was about as fluffy as could be, though some of the "Darker" drama scenes felt really tonally off and resolved really really quickly. Lets just say people are very forgiving in the world of this VN. It probably would've been best to cut those.

I liked Ritsuko more than I thought I would.

<report>Such a classic. I'm blinded by nostalgia, I admit, but I love this game. It was my first exposure to visual novels alongside Katawa Shoujo. I still remember watching Lost Pause play it as a kid. I didn't actually play it myself until maybe 2018, or so, I can't much remember tbh. All I know is this, and Katawa Shoujo -- two visual novels I watched him play -- are what made me infatuated with Visual Novels in the first place. It definitely isn't a masterfully told story, but I will admit, I sobbed at each ending, and I have no idea why. (well, the endings are fantastic). If you're looking for a fun game to play, with some good characters and drama, check it out. It's pretty hilarious, too, if I'm remembering right. A good shift in tone after an intense game to reset yourself, for sure.

<report>Reading this visual novel was an amazing experience, the story was great, the characters were great, there was a good amount of drama, the soundtrack and the voice acting were awesome. The only problem is the common route is a bit of a slog with some boring bits and the character design/quality is not the best but besides that this is a great romance vn that you should read.

<report>In general I don't recommend this VN unless you get a 50% discount.

I think I enjoyed 80% of this visual novel, but the other 20% is filled with annoying tropes that really hurts the overall experience:

1.- This VN explores some heavy topics/problems, but they are brushed off or solved in the laziest way possible.

2.- Some characters are the definition of human garbage but they are forgiven or forgotten by the end of the story.

3.- All the problems in the story not only could but SHOULD have been prevented if the characters (and specially the MC) didn't have selective stupidity. And I can't stress this more, I really hated how much they love to create problems for themselves.

4.- The... Read more »

<report>It reminded me of Hoshizora no Memoria except just replacing the astronomy theme with an all-girls Catholic theme. They both have similarly long common routes with good character development in it, the character routes had simple but good development as well, the romance in all routes were pretty good and both had this feel-good nature I wish more slice of life VNs had.

I don't want to compare the two too much but I just wanted to note that I felt a similar feel when reading them.

As for what I generally liked/disliked about the VN.

What I liked:

* The Chapter format. Almost felt like I was watching a 26 episode omnibus format anime and it was easy to keep track of how far I actually... Read more »

<report>I enjoyed Princess Evangile a lot, so it's a shame that I cant give it that great of a score. It has a wild variance of good and bad points, as such it's a pretty inconsistent overall experience. tldr at end.

It's a bit of a strange vn that seems unsure if it wants to tell serious dramatic romance/stories, or be a silly romantic comedy. So it decides to say screw it lets mix them together. The result is that it does not excell in some places, but it was still overall pretty enjoyable and had a touch of uniqueness despite hit or miss moments on both sides of playful/serious. The biggest problem with the drama is that motives are not believable enough, explained away conveniently (insanity... Read more »

<report>Princess Evangile is a visual novel that will stick with you. From the outside in - looking at cover art, even reading the synopsis - there's little warning about what you're getting into. You're going to install, fire it up, and then you'll emerge some time later - days, weeks, who knows? - permanently marked. The only hint you may see is the full tag list on VNDB. Yes, that's a big chunk of text. It's all valid.

I'm sure you've read the synopsis at least on VNDB. No need to rehash that, but you play as "Masaya", and he's a fine vessel for playing this game. The perfect vanilla protagonist. Not too complicated, but not so overdone that you roll your eyes at every sentence of dialog. You... Read more »
