Description

My name is Tachibana Yuuji, a regular student with no particular plans for the future - until my parents left for Hawaii on a business trip last fall, leaving me in the care of my uncle in the wintry countryside of Hokkaido.

Small-town life on Japan's northern island didn't have time to get dull, as from the moment I got there I was reunited with my cousin and childhood friend Saki. She's pretty demanding, but when I'm hanging out with her and her school friends I don't mind; as I get close to them I feel like I'm finding meaning in life that I didn't know I was looking for.

Legend says there is a flower that blooms here in the depth of winter... as the twilight deepens and a snowflake melts in the palm of my hand, I stand with a beautiful girl by my side. Will we be able to uncover its mystery in this fleeting moment?

<report>In many ways Snow Sakura is a standard dating sim VN, but the charming setting of Hokkaido and appealing characters place it in a higher standing than others of its kind.

This was actually the first VN I ever played, and so in a way it is sort of special for me. Typically speaking very few pure romance-themed are critically rated very highly (simply look at the top rated VNs on this website to see this), and this is no real exception to that rule. However if what you’re looking for is a light-hearted slice of life story without too much drama, this is a pretty solid choice in my opinion.

Snow Sakura isn’t too long, depending on how many of the 5 routes you choose to peruse (hint hint: Kozue is best girl). As one of the more funny and endearing VNs I’ve played, I recommend it.

<report>I remember the first time i played this game, many many years ago, when i was still new to VNs, this game stood out to me simply because of the overall vibe, atmosphere, setting, the scenic aesthetic. Just the overall vibe , the setting of the game is pleasant. Almost makes u want to live in this world because of how pretty it must be. After playing this game, I promised myself I'll visit Japan when i grow up. So yeah would recommend, especially if you're new to VNs, this is a very good entry level vn. I'd say, it's literally like the Golden Time of VNs , a DIFFERENT experience if you're young and new to vns

<report>This is the first visual novel that I would recommend based solely on its "vibe." The story is very average and sometimes a drag, and the emphasis is clearly on the everyday slice-of-life interactions between the characters. If you treat this VN the same way you would a slice-of-life anime, I think you'll really enjoy it. The characters are not as trope-y as I initially expected, but they're still nothing groundbreaking.
There's Saki, the cousin character who fills the sister/childhood friend role,
Misaki, the cute, airheaded girl that they use for the cover of the game,
Kozue, who's crazy about Misaki and often derails conversations,
Rei, who looks exactly like Ciel from Tsukihime, but... Read more »
