Description

Life is like a staircase. You just gotta keep climbing. Otherwise, if you start to overthink it, you'll have trouble taking the next step.

Shinichi wants nothing more than to lead a quiet life. Though he was once close friends with Miyuki, the most popular girl in school, his desire for normalcy now keeps them from being anything more than classmates.

Everything changes, however, one day on the roof, when the class oddball, Aoi, suddenly tries to kiss him. Miyuki appears just in time to stop her, but afterward, Shinichi feels the urge to bring some light to this friendless girl's eyes. He enlists Miyuki's aid, and thus, a trio is born.

The days pass, and little by little, Aoi learns what it means to be friends. But at the same time, long-dormant feelings awaken in Miyuki's heart. As the distance between her and Shinichi shrinks, the hard-earned bonds the three share begin to fray.

Miyuki or Aoi-when the time comes, who will Shinichi choose?

<report>turns out getting zappy can cause severe case of concussion and brain damage

dunno how to describe this game without delving into too much details, but essentially this is a love story where you, the player, are judged critically for your decisions.

the characters are interesting, and i got quite invested in them. none of the them are stupid, and can actually take hints (including the mc).

you may stumble upon a few endings during your playthrough, but bear with it longer. the story isn't ending anytime soon. the true ending will tie it all up together nicely. make sure you idle at the title screen after the true end.

<report>It's hard to speak much about this game without spoiling it, since the plot hinges so heavily on a twist. Here's what I will say:

- There's a game with a very similar premise - you may know the one - that is helped a lot by its brevity. You and Me and Her does many fun and clever things with its premise, but wastes a staggering amount of your time along the way.

- There are so many shitty H-Scenes in this game that make it hard for me to recommend. They're not plot-relevant, they're not sexy (actually, they're kind of hilarious), and they're SO long!

- Overall, it's a cool, well-written game with a surprisingly good translation (I feel like everything I've read from Jast has suffered from an obvious lack of QA)...but the game sure as hell could have gotten to the point a little quicker.

<report>Masterpiece, a must play. But be careful: every second you spend with Aoi and Miyuki will become important, when the time comes. You will think back at some point in the game and that gonna influence your decision. Its tough, I promise. I don't usually cry easily at vn, but this game did it, applause. Definitely in my Top 3 VN. Both Thumbs Up!!! 👍👍

I apologize if there is any english mistakes. It is a foreign language for me.

<report>I don't have any grand thing to say, but this game is really good. It's a fantastic meta deconstruction with really good production value in pretty much every aspect. The music is really good, the art is great, voice acting and writing are also fantastic. It a really well put together and intriguing title, especially the back half or so.

<report>This was a very unique and interesting visual novel, which I think is the most important thing to be said about it. It has a very in your face message that kind of works due to the nature of it. But at the same time there really isn't any more to Totono than its message, the characters, story, and drama all feel a little bit hollow due to this. With that said the atmosphere throughout is extremely effective and some of the late story is extremely enthralling and has moments that connect with a player in a way I have never seen before.

<report>It was alright, but for me it took too long to get to the point, broken up by redundant scenes that did not matter to me too often. Don't get me wrong, it was a decent overall storyline but it suffers from the former issue. The game failed to sell the heroines to me early on so I cared for them a lot less later on as well.

I appreciate what it attempts to do though, it had a fair few moments that got a reaction of me that I thought were clever. So I did not give it too bad of a score.

<report>Totono is a meta visual novel, which some have enjoyed tremendously, and others have been turned off by to a degree. I personally belong to the former group. It’s best experienced with as little knowledge beforehand as possible, which in turn makes saying anything besides “It’s good” pretty much a spoiler. However, I will say that the work pretty much demands you to pay attention to it and if you’re looking for a VN where you can turn your brain off, you’re better off looking elsewhere.

<report>This is an amazing game that I would recommend not just to visual novel readers, but perhaps to anyone in general. This game is rather short compared to most VN's, it only took me about 3 days to read--and that was with a guide to get through the complicated puzzle that you run into later on, but honestly, I wish I was able to go in blind, because the twists that occur in this game are utterly superb. I have not been so utterly surprised by the events of a game in a long time. It surprises me how little attention this game has online compared to games with very similar premises and themes --- Doki Doki Literature Club and Undertale, which both came out a few years after this game released!

<report>Not my usual visual novels. I'm more of a linear-story-rich romance visual novel reader, leaning towards real life drama and SoL. This VN does have drama alright, its just that the premise does not appeal to me. In terms of the romance depth, it can't compete with my top titles. I guess the best way I can describe it is it's interesting, just not my usual cup of tea. The constant 4th wall break really pull me out of the story and I can't seems to get invested in the characters. But I understand why some people love this VN. I've read some of the reviews comparing it to DDLC, I've never played that but I guess if you like that game, you'll probably gonna like this too.

<report>This game was pretty well written, i liked it a lot. The art and the voice acting didnt disappoint and the game gave me a pretty comforting vibe, id like to play it again for the first time. There where many different routes and endings and the ost is also nicely done, gives me nostalgia

<report>Story is deeper, longer, and the content it spewed out is super juicy.

Was way better than VNs like DDLC, not to bring it down (DDLCs production value is actually a little bit ahead of this VN, despite there only being one dev for it.)

It's a must-read-before-death type of VN.

<report>That was on of the most hardest visual novels that I've played. Riddles weren't simple for me... Even with guides! Hahaha! I like the game. It reminds me of Doki Doki so much. At the beginning it looks like a regular date sim but in few hours it'll be different! If you wanna play in something that similar to Doki Doki, u should certainly check the game because it is even better then Doki doki. However I think the game is not super good but I've really enjoyed it. 7.5/10

<report>This game broke me, and that's why you should play it

This was my first experience with NTR and it broke me in a way I've never experienced, it made me question my life choices. To me, Aoi is equivalent to girls on the internet doing porn and the tragedy of falling in love or even having any feelings for one of them. They live online having sex with other guys while you can only just watch, you either become a cuck or move on in life and find a real girl, which means abandoning your 'online harem'. This is ofc my own interpretation based on my experiences of trying to quit p*rn but then to suddenly be confronted by that one NTR scene, it really broke me

This game also introduced me to Nitroplus, which I hope to read more of once my Japanese gets better

<report>A little birdie told me cultural phenomenon Doki Doki Literature Club! was inspired directly by this story. That wasn't true, of course, but it's an interesting parable- and believable solely on account of the fact that this lil' story is an ancient, archaic reminiscence of the same sort of deconstructive pattern. It's a relic at the end of the day, and one that's valuable to understand in a comprehensive analysis of authorship trends across time and culture... But does it stack up in the face of the bulk cultural conditioning concerning subversive prose we're raised in? Eh. Just another nobody-boy getting courted by the girls at school.

<report>This is the fastest story I've ever dropped which is why I can't actually give it a rating in good faith, to put it bluntly; the autistic pink-haired girl got on my nerves so fast that I was struggling to keep reading. Once another zany character showed up--this time a guy--I closed the game.

Does it have an interesting premise? It's hard to tell honestly, the pink-haired girl can either see the future and chooses to mess with people by pretending that God literally calls her on her flip phone (very interesting) or she's supposed to be a self-aware character (less interesting). Who knows? Perhaps there's a S;G tier plot for you to sink your teeth into if you like the characters.
