Description

Amamiya Yuuko, a mysterious girl dressed like a nun, and Himura Yuu, a mysterious gentleman who is somehow attached to the church where Yuuko first appears, are having a reunion in a church during Christmas time. Despite her attire, Yuuko is not affiliated with the church. She always appears generally out of no where, and disappears just as quickly in various places throughout the story to talk with Hiro or other characters and give them advice. Yuuko and Yuu reminisce about the past and remember events of the previous year around the same time at the beginning of the first chapter of the story. Yuuko hints of events that are revealed throughout Ef: A Fairy Tale of the Two..

<report>The first four chapters are essentially just a prologue in my opinion. They can trigger emotions and make you worry, but I didn't find them particularly interesting. I was just reading and waiting for it to finally tell us about the most interesting and main characters.
When I finally got to the last chapter, I wasn't disappointed. It touched me very much, right up to crying. The last time this happened was in early 2020 with Summer Pockets. That's why I read VNs. So Ef will now get stuck in my heart. At least the last chapter.

<report>It took me around 3 weeks to finish the VN.

First: It's quite good, there are interesting characters, good plot and good graphics, but there are also some boring things. Most of the game is pretty boring, that is why it took me that long.

Second: Only 2 characters were interesting. Others were just meh.

I would say it's fine, but nothing else. Ending was good. 7/10

<report>Ef - a fairy tale of the two. is a romantic drama VN that has several intertwining stories about characters dealing with their own set of hardships regarding interpersonal relationships. These stories touch upon themes like ambition, rejection, jealousy, grief, abuse, tragedy, the importance of memory and many others. Ultimately all those separate stories come together in one final act that wraps it all in a touching package. It's a unique and intensely emotional experience.

One aspect that immediately stands out is its presentation. Despite its age, Ef's production values are immense. With over a thousand (!) unique CGs, lipsynching and blinking, fully animated opening and ending... Read more »

<report>ef was one of the stranger novels that I have read, not for its actual content but for the way it was paced and how its storyline progressed over time.

There are a lot of chapters to this novel, but the strange thing is that the first two storylines are a lot different from the rest aka the second half of the novel which to me felt like it began from the 3rd story onwards.

The pacing was very slow, but intentionally written as such. It was done well but for me there were many spouts of boredom especially in the first half.

The 1st chapter serves as pretty much an introduction to the story and was not too interesting so there was not much to go over.
The 2nd chapter was probably my... Read more »

<report>‘Ef- a tale of the two’ is a little bit bizarre to say about. It is composed of six chapters. Each of the first five chapters is an approximately independent story. They are all about the bitterness of life and the concedence and struggle against the reality. They are weakly bonded together into two event chains with some common characters. The final chapter draws a conclusion of the stories as the two event chains meet together. The story is touching; sentiments are flowing out the screen. However, it also has some flaws. The abundance of random events occurred by astronomically small chance or absolute zero chance significantly increased in the fifth and the sixth chapter. This is a... Read more »
