The BEST and darkest ensemble title to date, I always thought that ensemble wouldn't have the guts to write a more serious and a bit dark story like what they did in Otome Canvas, but this game manages to surpass that and all of previous ensemble games for that matter. This time, they really put an emphasis on the story aspect, the routes need to be play in order, and if you want to get the full picture then you need to play all of them no exception, the game "chooses" the route for you, so you don't have to worry about the order or missing out on anything. I always like games that wants you to play all the routes to understand the full story and coming form ensemble, this is really special. I also like the use of NVL scenes (ensemble never done this before), these scenes really manage to grab my attention during the important parts of the story.

Overall this is really a good game, I still couldn't believe that this is made by ensemble, If you've never pass on an ensemble game but decide to skip it this year since it's not their usual "trap" game, then i think you're really missing out on something good here, and IMO, I think the trap genre is probably what held them back from going all out with the story like this, but then again, we wouldn't them to abandoned their root now, would we? I hope they incorporate what they made here into their next "trap" game, maybe not as dark as this, but they're definitely on the right direction.

< report >Pleasantly surprised too that a dark and serious game coming from Ensemble of all things which I did not expect, even more so with a voiced protagonist.

While not innovative of the genre, they really did unusual things and had a lot of interesting concepts, I'm curious on what your thoughts are about the fight scenes. I actually skipped some of the fight scenes as I felt it was not as good as it could be.

But all of the emotional notes are hitting well for me even If I'm not finished. I'm just really surprised such a dark and interesting game came from ensemble and the author of Houkago Cinderella lol
