ReviewThis is the first VN written by Izumi Ban'ya that I've played, and presumably the first he wrote. (Although I played Doujinshi Sokubaikai o Yarou! where he wrote one route, and Yami no Koe II where he wrote some of the H scenes.) Considering that, I was quite impressed. It's a much darker VN than Black Cyc's first two games (Yami no Koe and Yami no Koe II), so be warned if you're playing this expecting it to be similar.

So what can I say about Mushitsukai? Well, it certainly was an emotional roller coaster. Never have I been so horrified, aroused, and depressed at the same time. But Izumi somehow managed to make me feel exactly that (though I get that's kind of a common thing with him). He does a very good job at showing just how terrible Ren, the protagonist is, and how much suffering he puts the heroines through, but how at the same time he also has a kind and gentle side to him. If you're looking for a dark VN with a morally flawed protagonist and disturbing H scenes I would recommend it.

And before I end the review, it would be remiss of me if I didn't mention that this game serves as the basis for Extravaganza ~Mushi Mederu Shoujo~, which I am looking forward to (and somewhat dreading) playing in the future. Although I get the idea that it's a very different game, and much darker and disturbing.
