Review | This is the first yuri VN I've read in quite some time and I do not regret reading it one bit, here's to hoping part 2 will be fun as well. With that out of the way, onto the specifics. Technicals: Really nothing to note here. Translation had an error here and there but was overall very good. Not a lot of options to customize the experience but satisfactory. 30 save slots. Nothing to really complain about, 7/10. Art: I really did like the art here. The one knock is that there's only 6 CGs total but outside that, sprites, backgrounds, CGs, all looked great. Big bonus was the addition of multiple sprite looks for the main girls. Overall, 8/10, me likey. Music/Sound Effects: Music was decent. Nothing memorable but still solid for a shorter work. Sound effects really made this more fun to read (The H scene SFX were, interesting). 7.5/10. Characters: If there's one thing I didn't like, it was the fact that some side characters with sprites were unvoiced. Not a huge deal but I would've liked for the extra immersion that would bring. Other than that, can't really complain. The 2 main heroines are really good and mesh well together as old BFFs reuniting, and their respective love interests are fun characters. The other unvoiced side characters that get sprites aren't out of this world but still decent. Ren 8/10 Shinonome (Shinome) 8/10 Ruka 8/10 Uzume 7.5/10 side characters 6/10 H Content: There were 3 scenes total. It's very vanilla for yuri stuff but I still enjoyed it. The voice acting was excellent, CGs looked great, I can't find anything to complain about (I definitely liked that the text switched to speech bubbles during these scenes so you can see the full CG). Nothing spectacular but I won't complain, 7.5/10. Story: For a short VN, this was definitely the strongest part. Even though it only took me 6 hours to read this, it did its job with the worldbuilding and slowly but surely moves toward the bigger stuff, culminating in an almost perfectly placed cliffhanger for part 2 to start from. It left me guessing what happens next so, it accomplished what it's supposed to. My one issue was the alternate view. After getting to a stopping point from Ren's POV, you switch to Shinome for the rest of the VN. Yes it was necessary but, it led to quite a bit of repeating text as you went through a lot of the same events again. It's not a gigantic deal but that kept me from giving this an 8. Final Thoughts: Yeah so, reading this was a good use of my time. It's definitely not some masterpiece but, I can see myself calling it a diamond in the rough since it feels like this work doesn't get a lot of traffic. I enjoyed my team viewing this and hope part 2 is good as well. 7.5/10, I do recommend picking it up but maybe wait for a sale since the R18 patch costs money. |
