|Review||I really wanted to like this game, I really did. There are very few games out there that touch upon Neet/Weeb culture from a western perspective. When I saw this game, I was really excited. How often is it that a bunch of people from an imageboard get together and make an entire fucking game just for the hell of it, this had to be something special.|
Sadly I was mistaken. This game is really nothing but a long attempt at crude humor and being offensive for the sake of being offensive. For anyone who grew out of that shit at the age of 12 (which is almost everyone lets be honest), this game is simply boring. I did play to the end of it, or at least 1 ending since I still had hope that this game would at some point redeem itself. But no, it just keeps dragging on and on, and at a certain point I just starting skipping the text to the choices.
Ok fine the game sucks, but your here for the lolis right? Yeah well, while I have seen uglier attempts at drawing, this is definitely in the bottom 10%. And I think that almost everyone can agree on this, even fanboys of this game. The loli characters themselves all have a unique quirk which was kind of interesting, but in terms of character development, it falls flat like the rest of the game.
The only redeemable quality of this game is the gameplay, some of it is actually interesting as it brings in aspects of Weeb/Nerd culture like the Ace Atourney scene which came out of nowhere and was actually surprisingly fun.
All in all, this game is just a long winded attempt at 9th grade 4chan crude humour, which only appeals to certain types of people like the guy in the discussion forum defending this game with "YOu hAve tO haVe a CERtain amOUNt Of InTElLiGEnce TO play THis gAMe". If you are not one of those people, don't bother with this game. There are much better games out there that potray weeb culture (and lolis) without resorting to uninspired edgy "humor".
P.S Lessons in Love is a good example of a game that does portray western weeb culture with actually interesting social commentary if you are looking for something like that (also lolis that don't look hideous).
