Review | The gameplay was rather simple but enjoyable. The difficulty, however, seemed a bit unbalanced. My advice is to play on easy for your first pass, then if you enjoy it enough try a harder difficulty on your 2nd or 3rd pass. I almost wish there was more difficulty on the maps, which require you to essentially put tetris pieces down to make your path, but by the end of the game I managed to have a massive selection of rare pieces but no need for them. On the other side, the actual "battles" where you have to target enemies, I felt like the difficulty even on easy was a bit much 3/4 of the way through the game, where you'd likely simply lose for not winning fast enough. This probably took me 10-15 hours, but I read slowly. Overall, I'm looking forward to the sequel, but won't replay this one. |

However, I did replay the game through all difficulty levels. There were three places where even with the maximum upgrades available, timing was essential to win I suspect the same will be needed for Re;Lord 2Last modified on 2021-01-20 at 21:28 |

It's weird, because at the beginning the middle difficulty seemed like a good balance, but the lack of time really made it stressful maybe 2/3 of the way through. Ended up adding several hours of backtracking after restarting on easy mode. |

The timing for that... Whilst I think easy mode will be needed for Re;Lord 2 to start with, I believe they've ironed a few problems out (apparently weapon switching will be needed as well).Last modified on 2021-01-30 at 10:19 |
