ReviewI hate dropping this one, but the ultra short common route really screws with the pacing of every route.
The Main Character knows most heroines for just a few days and after a handful of interactions they're suddenly in love.
Shame, cause the characters are likable and it's generally well written, but the pacing to me is just way off.

Needs a short common route tag.

< report >The common route is actually not short btw (its like 7ish hours) which is fairly long actually. Even if it took you a short amount of time I would say its length is comparable to most other moege/charages of the 30-50 length or so or slightly longer ones. But you are right it does screw with the pacing and knowing anyone before you get into a route.

< report >I think 7 hours is kinda stretching it. It's more like 5ish in my opinion (unfortunately I didn't have any tracking app like steam etc. for this one) and since the Novel is stated as >50 hours, I feel it's a fairly short common route. (Or the length needs to be adjusted, to 30-50 hours as you stated.)

I mean, I'm not expecting another Grisaia, but I do feel it is a little bit too short.
To be fair, I haven't read that many novels and maybe I've been lucky with what I did read, but most common routes I've encountered where substantially longer.

That being said, I will admit i have a bias towards a very slow pace, but as you also acknowledged, most heroines don't get a lot of interaction or "screentime" before you have to choose and even on their respective routes (only checked Natsuki, Rikka and Touko) it usually feels rushed. (Or in Natsukis case, the relationship actually progresses at a great pace, but then suddenly takes a huge leap)

I might give it another go sometime, cause aside from the pacing issues i really did enjoy it so far.

< report >7 hours is about the limit before people complain its too long. The issue here is less the time of the common but more the content, since it focuses too much on only 1 person and really doesn't explore any of the others...I felt as if i knew basically nothing of anyone from the common which was annoying. Everything else though was great minus the common

< report >Yeah i guess, that's just where i differ from the norm. I enjoy long common routes, cause you learn more about every character "in a more natural way".
Soon as you enter a characters route the story focuses on them, it often feels like it forces situations so you can learn more about them and many other characters get almost ignored completely.
I prefer the dynamic of the common route where they are usually all presented somewhat equally before choosing.

But I agree - for example Natsuki only became interesting to me while i was already on the Rikka route. I'll probably give it another try when I'm done with my current novel.

< report >It's such a waste if you drop this tho, even the common route is not much interesting. You can still give it a try to the heroine routes

< report >Yeah I remember a bunch of other characters became more interesting while I read other routes (which is abnormal). I think the lack of showing characters was why I took touko first though, since it didn't seem she "should" have as much interaction in the common route. I also like an equal amount in the common, its why I keep saying the weakest part of the VN is the common. I think I gave the common route like a 5/10 but the entire VN is a 9/10.

< report >Yeah, I understand that since there are some common route that are really weak but the heroine routes are more likely to recover the readers interest from a weak common route story
