Review[No spoiler review] G-senjou is a mix between a cat and mouse crime / underworld type story, and a multi heroine route school dating VN. Does it work? Overall yes it does. You do however have to overlook some slightly eye-rolling plot conveniences and twists; but it delivers a roller coaster adventure with a solid conclusion. Thematically this VN is about how our past shapes our future; and our struggles in the present to forge ahead in spite of these challenges.

One positive of G-senjou is it doesn't get too bogged down in slice of life scenes. Granted it certainly contains that, but overall the plot moves along quite well and is filled with suspense and action throughout. The various heroine endings you can reach en route to the true ending I found to be a little distracting from the central plot (which does effect the pacing of the game if you want to play all the endings en route to the true end). However you could always just play through straight to the true end and bypass these if you wish. I'm sure people have different opinions on that, but I wish I had just played through to the true ending, then gone back to discover the 'what if' endings after the fact. That would keep the pacing and suspense up and work better imo.

I found some of the plot twists to be a little head scratching (and not in the best way) but none-the-less I enjoyed the overall feeling of not knowing what was coming next. The ending was very solid, not what I was expecting but it ended in an impactful way. The characters were interesting for the most part (bar some overly cliche side characters) though not amazing. The music, sound effects and visuals were all of a high standard - although I do wish more effort and budget went into the music score given the prevalence of classical music as a theme.

A very good visual novel, not quite on the highest tier in my opinion - but I think you would have a tough time not enjoying yourself when reading this one.
