ReviewAlthough at first I was wary of the visual style, in the end I really liked Paradise Killer. The aesthetics, lore and even the open world mechanics - everything hooked me much more than I expected.
One of the key motives of the game is the opposition of truth and facts, so I was ready for a weak, "open" ending. But it did not happen. The script provides both a place for the player's interpretation and an adequate detective closure. This made me happy.
And even if there are quite a few minor problems in the game, in terms of the thoughtfulness of the investigation itself and the gradual disclosure of all secrets, I would put it on a par with such decent detective games as Disco Elysium or even Her Story. This is not a new Danganronpa, but definitely a game worth trying.
Highly recommend.

< report >Okay, I'll admit, the game looks dope as fuck, but I wonder if it qualifies as a visual novel. Don't really want to delve too much into Youtube Let's Plays, as I actually want to play the game.

A small note about the release entry you have added. Different platforms need to have separate release entries, so Switch should be split away from Windows.

< report >I was hesitant at first, but personally I think it does qualify. Yes, there is some gameplay, but you mostly talk to people. And trial is long and uninterrupted VN sequence.

Since the game borrows so much from Danganronpa (and other novels) in terms of style and presentation, I decided to add it. If it will be deleted, then so be it. At least I tried.Last modified on 2020-09-13 at 21:36
