ReviewSurprisingly decent. The common route is weaker than the first game's, but they make up for this by improving the routes themselves. For the typical eroge, I typically wind up reading 0 - 1 routes to completion before dropping it and moving on. I read 4 out of 5 ph2's routes to completion (the one incomplete route being one I didn't even try because I'm not fond of that girl's archetype), and I found Usagi's route in particular to be very enjoyable. Definitely worth a try.

< report >Just curious if i only wanted to play one of these games should i play this or the first? They came out at the same time and i do not really think i want to play both of them. Others already said they are way too similar for that.

< report >Would recommend doing PxH 1 first.
It is not necessary to do PxH 1 but they do keep referencing PxH 1 characters throughout PxH 2.
I agree with the review that routes are better this time but I liked the MC and common route of PxH 1 more than this so I liked it more.

< report >@hansfranz77 It's hard to say. Like the other commenter, I also liked PxH1 MC and common route more, and I think part of the charm of PxH2's routes is that the characters from the previous game make cameos. The cameos in Alicetia and Usagi's routes were particularly powerful, but you probably can't appreciate these scenes if you didn't pal around with the characters in PxH1 first. However, there are a lot of similarities (a lot of the common route is the devs going 'Look it's a reference to the first game! Laugh!', and the 2 minor characters in this one are basically ripoffs of the minor characters in the first game), so if you really do only pick one, I'd say go with the first one.
