Review | This VN is two things: a collection of short stories and an overarching story of its own. The collection consists of a few odd folk tales written for 5 year olds. The metafiction-based treatment they are given here may be interesting for 8-10 year olds, but that's hardly an improvement. It's a barely passable way to kill boredom. The overarching story is about the protagonist, a (literally) empty shell of a girl who's lost her memory, which she is slowly recovering piece by piece as she is coming to learn the truth of the little fairy tale world she inhabits. This felt like a weak and contrived plot device to force some feels into the story, yet all I felt was apathy. Not a bad VN by any means, writing and production values are great, just… not my cup of tea. Too much sugar. |
