ReviewI'm sorry if this text has some spelling or grammar mistakes, English is not my native language.
Dra+KoI Is a ridiculous over the top romcom which satirizes the dating sim eroge genre and subverts your expectations while never once failing to be funny.
It follows the story of a nameless protagonist, who happens to be a target of also nameless dragon girl heroine. Unlike the usual dating sim protaginsts however, our MC is a male tsundere, and unlike the usual dating sim heroines, our heroine is extremely thirsty and proactive, which leads to the two constantly exchanging banter, even during the H scenes. It lead to me actually enjoying the scenes way more then I usually do, with them being fun and not boring to read. Overall, the chemistry between the two is so good that my only complaint is that I really wanted more of it than just 3 hours it takes to complete the VN. The great part about the dragon girl is also the fact that the story gives a real understandable reason for why she acts the way she does and her motivations for it. It gives her character a little bit of extra depth, which made me like her way more than your average eroge heroine.
The MC's mom must also be noted as the single best parent figure I've seen in a comedic work, who I won't spoil, you really must experience it for yourself.
As far as the actual story and the setting goes, it's extremely simple. It takes place in a world close to ours, which just happens to be constantly attacked by fantasy creatures. The human weapons do no damage to them due to fantastic creatures existing on a different level of reality. What are fantastic creatures' motivations? Why do they seek to attack the world again and again? I won't spoil, but the story gives a good, working explanation to that, which is worth praising since's we're talking about a short comedic work which could've easily avoided addressing this issue, but chose not to.
The graphics are simple but do their job right and are pleasent to the eye. The text window constantly changes shape depending on the scene and on the character saying the line, so I never had an issue with understanding who says what despite everyone being unvoiced and nameless.
The OST is especially worth noting. It's way better than you could've expected from a short eroge like Dra+KoI and is extremely memorable, fun, and varied, giving extra flavour to every single scene. It also takes full advantage of the fact that the VN is unvoiced, so it uses plenty of vocal tracks. With some tracks the instrumental version is played first, and the vocal one later, which enhances this sense of progression of the story and the pair's relationship. My favourite is definitely the ED "To aru Ryuu no Koi no Uta" by Itou Kanako, which is my favourite performance of hers. I recommend you not look it up and play the game yourself for it to have maximum impact on you.
Overall, I fail to see a single flaw in Dra+KoI, and my only issue remains the same: I just want more of it. There really should be more stories like it. So in my opinion Dra+KoI is extremely underrated and deserves a perfect 10/10 score. It's sad that people look down on silly comedies just because they don't tickle your senses of feeling "cultured" and "smart", it is totally a genre worth exploring and worth praising, and Dra+KoI is an excellent example of one such story. With it being only 3 hours long, I highly recommend everyone to check it out.
