Review | A niche title with niche content for a niche reader. This nukige has a funky world concept where females basically get inflated, pregnant looking bellies when having a rise in a hormone that drives them to get pregnant. Which in itself seems like a sort of weird "have kids and start families dammit" government induced thing because a ring can potentially prevent the effects of that (though only if you are either working or are already married/have a spouse). The main heroine, Kanae, is a young, rebellious spirit and refuses that system. She wants to propel herself into stardom as a guitarist and vocalist, and settling down and starting a family would be the end of that dream for her. However, given she's also basically a college dropout and almost a NEET the whole "Oh no! My body is inflating, and I can't help it!" stuff tosses a wrench in her plans (besides the whole... almost 0 income thing until she comes across the protagonist). Meanwhile, Tsumugi is Kanae's foil--being *almost* the opposite of her older sister as a character. There's really not much more to say about Tsumugi with that in regards. The game's practically a Norn-like title. Vanilla impregnation title, but with a bit of a twist where instead of the heroine(s) getting pregnant at or around the epilogue of the story they also get (or appear) pregnant during most of the sexual scenes. SFX are lacking (no looping SFX for sex), but it's nothing out of the ordinary for even a Norn/Miel title, really (thus the comparison). The voice acting is serviceable and fit the characters well for who they are. The actress that voices Tsumugi is a bit overly monotone, but given that is the intention with her character I can't fault the actress for her performance with that in regard. Arigatou is great as Kanae, and really brings out the carefree sort of character that Kanae is. I've been a fan of hers since all the way back in LUNE's Aku no Onna Kanbu 1, though (she was Lunatemis) so that's a bit of a biased opinion. The CG is either something like you if you enjoy stylistic artstyles, or won't find your cup of tea if you prefer more realistic artstyles. Nanao Yukiji is probably more known for the hentai manga and doujinshi they have produced over the years, so if you like their eromanga then you'll probably enjoy this on merit of the artist's artwork alone. Score: A volatile 3/5 (a 5 to 7/10 -- I prefer the 5 point scoring system) as far as nukige goes, really. Do you like pregnancy/impregnation? Do you like Nanao Yukiji? Do you like the voice of Ramius from Evenicle? This might be worth picking up. Additional Note: This work is JP only as of the time of this little review, but given it's already a 5 year old work I doubt this will ever be translated by anyone other than an interested fan translator. |
