ReviewMarshmallow all the way home by Marmalade is so far the best of their titles by a lance line. It has way better writing, Music is also better than in their other titles.
It's a Slice of Life Comedy Visual Novel and a very fine one at that, with the main theme centered around the Cake Shop, Marshmallow Tree.
so story is Kanon (the blue whiteish haired girl) found the MC in a park lying on the ground while unconscious, she decides to pick him up and hire him to be a worker at Marshmallows which is their Cake Shop.

Protag is dumb yes, but not perverted thankfully, which makes it instantly better than Primal Hearts.

so Kanon (The Blue/White Hairish girl) owns the Cake Shop, Ushio the (black Haired girl) is the manager of the Shop, JC (The Tanned one) is just an employee.
They've noticed that almost no customers are coming to their shop. This is due to the arrival of a famous competitor nearby.
So they have decided to give out food samples to trying and lure customers in.
The Protagonist manages to get the attention of a few kids and her mother by making origami figures for them and explaining how to make them.
And he wrapped the box so charmingly with the origami the kids worked on hard, so she did decide to buy a cake!
The food samples given to especially the Kids proved to be a big success.
Our Protagonist is actually quite smart and good when it comes to talking to people and trying to get new customers.
There is also a Liquor shop not to far from the Cake shop, and the owner of said Liquor shop has throwen out his back, and with him at the Hospital his Kids are now doing the delivery and everything else.
One Day the Protagonist sees the Kids: Taichi and Shizuka doing their work, and he decides to help them out.
The Common Route didn't felt long at all, because it's pretty good. besides some pointless drama once. were the cafe received a package with crack lol
and the police ofc did know instantly that they received such a package. Such logic.

the Protagonist is not in a school currently as he dropped out of it. that's where one of his male childhood friend comes into play.
A guy named Q-Tip. He paid everything for his scholarship in advance so that he can come back into the class at any time. the only problem was, that he didn't knew where our Protagonist went, but he got wind of that he works in Kasukabe's shop.
And with that our Protagonist went back to school. The Q-Tip guy did all that because he does want to continue compete with him no matter what.
He agrees but under 1 circumstance. He wants to find another Pastry chef for the Shop. And thats were the 4th girl Raiha Raikkönen comes in. He talks to her and they get along quite well, but she doesn't agree for now on becoming the new Pastry Chef.
She has her reasons and all of that is explained in the common Route.
I could talk a lot more about what's happening in here but That's as much as I will talk about here in this review, for more you have to read the actual VN. (It's pretty good!)

Sasa's reactions are comedy gold. Her inferiority complex and the stuff she says is just so funny.
Ushio acts like the big sister although she is the smallest of the cast, which makes for some hillarious scenes as well.
Raiha is the tall, quiet and mysterious Ojou-sama who doesn't like it noisy and crowded, who loves seeking out amusing things.
And Kanon is your Air-Headed Deredere that likes everyone.

as for the routes they are still mostly on Nukige Tier Level, which is why there is no reason for you to do all Routes here. Just do the Routes for the Girls you are Interested in. The Only Little Story bits you got here were in Kanon's Route.
but thats how I remember all routes in marmalade Visual Novels.
But some had interesting bits here and there like in Kanon's route with the other buisness, her Grandma and Uncle.
The Writing was actually good, but especially in the Character specific routes, it can get quite boring. 5/10 in that aspect.
common route was a 9/10 though, I liked that a lot.
10-12 H-scenes overall and up to 14-16 with the extra scenes from the menu. And the scenes came at a very quick pace, It didn't needed that in my opinion, it would have worked with a quarter of that amount of Scenes as well.
Music is good, although it can be quite earwormy, so that you don't get the pieces out of your Head anymore.
The Girls are all good, there is no bad here, but my personal Ranking would be: 1: Kanon, 2: Ushio, 3: Sasa, 4: Raiha.

Marmalade had almost twice as much people working on Marshmallow then on Primal Hearts. Maybe thats why it feels so much better Overall, 22 People on Primal Hearts VS 38 People in Marshmallow. also a lot more Szenario writer.

Changing sysenv.dat to "read only" fixes the game not saving settings/not updating the extras menu. this is absolutely essential if you want to read this. this includes text not being marked as read if you don't do this, so going through the other Characters routes would be an absolute pain if you don't do this.

My Final Score for Marshmallow all the way Home will be a 7/10.
It'a good VN overall with some weak Character Routes and a a really good Common Route.
Those are my words to Marshmallow all the way home. Kazato Out
